PostSubject: Re: Tomiko Kioku [Forest]   Tomiko Kioku [Forest] - Page 2 I_icon_minitimeTue Apr 27, 2010 6:45 pm

Tomiko caught the relic, she wasn't sure that it would be effective, but activated it anyway, in a flash of light aimed at the Elwis, according to her approximations it was possible for a F rank relic to capture the creature, however it would be unlikely as the odds were against her two-to-one, then again, the very fact that she had encountered the Elwis was lower odds, so Tomiko remained at least somewhat hopeful. Now that the ghost was no longer intangible, it could be targeted by attacks again, though what worried Tomiko is the fact that it seemed to be very wicked, and quite strong.

She directed the Meu to jump left, at a slight angle. The attacks had been spread out to restrict Meu's movements, however the formation had an inbuilt blind-spot that a small agile creature like Meu was able to slip through. Taking the attacks head on would be a bad idea, especially when the level difference was factored in. However, luckily Meu's agility gave it an advantage. Tomiko had it fire off another telekinetic glare, this time focusing the beam as much as it could, so that it covered less area, and would be more difficult to stop with a blocking technique. The Meu then jumped into the air, a short distance, onto a low branch. The Meu was not heavy, so it was likely that the branch would hold.

Eien grimaced as the relic broke, tossing her another one to attempt on the Elwis. It was the least he could do. The Elwis was quite powerful and could cause a decent bit of damage to the Meu if any of its attacks landed. So far, Tomiko was handling the Meu quite well, using the cat's natural abilities to avoid the ghost's vicious assaults. The ghost did nothing but avoid the blast the Meu launched at it, moving around the area in a predatory manner, circling and waiting for a moment to strike.

This made Eien a bit nervous, especially with the emergence of a new natrelmon, a Durabee. However, when it saw the Elwis, the Durabee quickly fled, leaving the area empty save for the two trainers and the Natrelmon they were using to combat the Elwis. The time seemed to pass by slowly as the battle waged on, each one looking for an opening on the other. Of course, he hoped Tomiko would be able to capture the Elwis with the relic this time, reducing the risk with this battle to nothing.

PostSubject: Re: Tomiko Kioku [Forest]   Tomiko Kioku [Forest] - Page 2 I_icon_minitimeTue Apr 27, 2010 9:34 pm

Tomiko hadn't expected the mostly defensive posturing from the Elwis, but it was very helpful for her plan. She directed Meu to continue climbing into the branches, so that a direct attack would be more difficult. Also, up here there were no major areas of shadows, but rather interlaced light and dark, which would give the Meu more to work with. Due to the fact that it was very light on its feet, the Meu was able to move quite freely in the large canopy, able to traverse all but the slimmest of branches. The leaves also provided some cover, as the Meu was now not totally visible. Further, at its current elevation the Elwis would be unable to aim properly, forcing it to either rise or shoot blindly.

From above the Meu launched another Telekinetic glare, this one was again spread as a blanket and aimed downwards to force the Elwis to earth, and keep it from gaining height. Due to the spreading the damage would be less, but it covered a large area making it more difficult to counter. Tomiko readied another relic though she didn't want to use it quite yet. She decided to wait and see if the attack was able to do any damage to the Elwis. Furthermore, now that Meu was up in the treetop it would be more difficult for the Elwis to utilize its ranged attacks. Tomiko had the relic extended, and ready hoping that the Elwis would become distracted. Out of the corner of her eye she thought she saw something on the ground, but didn't pay much attention to it at this time. The Meu was careful to never turn its back on Elwis. As an afterthought she decided to activate the relic just in case she was lucky.

((Edited to include logic for a relic roll))

"Nice job!" Eien cheered as he watched the Elwis slam into the ground. It wasn't the most powerful impact, but it definitely annoyed the creature, the Elwis responding with a wild firing of Ghostly Lights in the general area of the Meu. They would be relatively easy to dodge, something Eien was comforted by. His Meu was preforming splendidly!

So far, most of the Natrelmon had been staying away from the area, so Eien's scanning eyes hadn't been able to pick up any wild Natrelmon nearby. He doubted he would find one since the Elwis was causing such a large ruckus with the fight against his precious Meu, but he would keep searching. A stronger, rare Natrlemon might be brave enough to be near by, unlike most of the weak Natrelmon like Durabee that had fled the area during the fight.

Kohitsuji bleated his form of encouragement to the Meu and Tomiko, watching the fight with great interest. It allowed Eien to be a bit more comfortable about not paying full attention to the fight between the two.

Having weakened it somewhat Tomiko decided she should start pelting it with Relics. There was now a 35% chance of capturing it, which still wasn't good but wasn't bad either. Another good thing was the fact that it was now trapped, at least for the time being, at a lower latitude and therefore unable to launch effective attacks at Meu. The Ghostly lights struck several branches, however Meu was able to avoid them with ease. However there was a decent deal of foliage damage as some of the smaller branches were snapped, however instead of falling like was logical, they wound up in Meu's telekinetic field and the mass was hurled at Elwis. Not much aiming had gone into the move, as the Meu couldn't control so many objects with much accuracy, however it would pelt the general area around Elwis.

Further because the branches were being hurled downwards they gained some extra energy from the force of gravity. After making the attack Tomiko the Meu to shift its position, to a part of the tree that was less open and did not have torn branches and foliage.

Eien couldn't help but imagine Tomiko's frustration at not having caught the Elwis already. It had managed to avoid all attempts at capturing, shattering the relic in the process....

Eien's Meu was still doing well and managing to avoid most of the attacks from the ghost type Natrelmon and was trying to use the debris created from the attack by the Elwis against it. He watched the pieces of the tree fly at the Elwis, which did small amounts of damage in its fairly blind rage at attacking the Meu. This got more Ghostly Lights flung at the small cat in the tree, Kohitsuji bleating a warning.

Eien had to restrain himself from jumping into the battle as well, telling himself to focus on finding another Natrelmon. He moved a bit further away from the battle since he had a feeling he was just making the battle all that more tense. Besides, he needed to find another Natrelmon, not make Tomiko more on edge. He was still within range to watch the fight, just not in as much detail. If there was an emergency, with Kohitsuji acting as a relay, he would be alerted and ready to act. He had faith in Tomiko though.

Tomiko wasn't yet discouraged, thus-far the Meu had proven itself adept at striking the Elwis. The only danger was that the creature was becoming more erratic, and Meu would have to focus more on dodging. This time Tomiko did not direct it to launch any fancy attacks, just a simple telekinetic glare. She then directed it to dodge behind a thick portion of the trunk so that the ghostly lights wouldn't be able to strike at it. Further she planned for it to descend just slightly, and take shelter under an overhanging larger branch so that debris would not be able to fall on the cat. It was this agility she planned to use to take the Elwis out, at least if she was able to. Given its erratic behavior that seemed likely at this point, though it would require precise timing.

Meanwhile she launched another relic at it, three times so far the relics had failed, but with any luck this one would succeed. Tomiko made a mental note that she now owed Eien a relic, seemed the tally between them was passing back and forth quite rapidly.

The Elwis was once again blasted by the Meu's psychic energy, causing it to get further enraged. However, this time, it moved towards the tree the Meu was in to get in closer to it. It realized that the firing of Ghostly Lights was pointless. It had to get in close to land a direct hit against the Meu.

Kohitsuji bleated a warning to Eien, in case he needed to watch this new development. However, Eien was focused on finding another Natrelmon, letting Tomiko do battle with the creature. She was doing well controlling the Meu and there was no reason for him to get involved quite yet.

So far though, the Elwis seemed to have made any searching in the general area impossible. It was completely dead. For the entire duration of the battle, Eien hadn't been able to find ANY wild Natrelmon since the Durabee had left, which Eien had no issue letting it do. He did not like Durabee and he didn't think Tomiko would appreciate it either for a breeding operation. Eien wasn't a fan of bugs.

He thought that he might have been able to have found a stronger, or braver Natrelmon in the area, but all of the young ones seem to have left, making him think about wandering to Toran to try hunting for Natrelmon there. He might have just tapped out all of his luck in the area around here, since had gotten both the Meu and the Atrix.

Tomiko had expected the Elwis to close, as anything smart would. Which is why she had made Meu particularly difficult to spot. The last Telekinetic Glare hit had been a boon that she was planning to take full advantage of. In truth it was possible that she could get one off at point blank range, but that wouldn't be to her advantage. Instead she decided to test Meu's agility, while the Elwis was still trying to close distance, she had it leap into midair, forming an aura shield to catch its weight for a split second as it lept to another tree branch.

Because of the trees seclusion it would be impossible for the Elwis to get a shot off with any accuracy, and Tomiko had prepared a feeble wall should the Elwis get lucky. This would put at least three more meters of distance between Meu and Elwis, hopefully faster than the Elwis could close distance. Tomiko now directed the Meu to wait again, ready to dodge as needed while she herself activated another relic.

Night, having been legally alowwed by the Elite Triumvirate ( Rather indirectly of course, they wouldn't pay that much special attention to a newbie trainer with no name like him yet. ) to skip his father's Gym, Night decided it was best to chill in Lifan while there were still trainers about. He figured he could finally get Shining Knight to evolve if he just found the right trainer to battle with. But first, he had to put together a legendary team! And, to do that, it was logical that first he had to complete his team. Night already had enough Natrelmon for a full battle party of four, but he wanted a completely full party of eight. But, he wasn't too stressed, he already had five down, three were semi rares, and the last two were some pretty useful common Natrelmon. So, going through the forest as he felt he'd already gotten most Natrelmon he needed from the Plains, Night stumbled across a battle, quite literally.

Night had tripped and had fallen into some bushes, when he looked up an saw a levitating Meu! Awestruck, Night pulled out his relic, only to hear the voice of a girl his age order it. ~ Darn! ~ Night thought to himself. ~ But good for her! Capturing a Meu is no small feat! This chick is probably good. ~ Rising out of the bushes he had fallen in, Night was able to witness some of the battle between the girl and her Meu versus some Elwis. ~ Which is also pretty rare and awesome! ~ Thought Night. ~ Damn, this girl is either lucky, or really good at finding Natrelmon. I sure hope I don't have to face her any time soon! ~ Sinking back into the bushes, Night did a full 180, and exited, maybe he'd find some good Natrelmon around here too! Seeing as there was an Elwis about!

Night peaked high and low around the forest, careful to not get too near that he interrupted the battle that was currently going on to see whether Elwis was going home with the girl or running home free, but not so far away that he couldn't hear or see what was happening and take note of the girls skills, not to mention the Elwis and Meu's abilities. ~ Better get your head in the game Night! You could be fighting one of those soon enough! Gyms have all sorts of rare and exclusive Natrelmon, and I don't need to get caught with my pants down! ~

Looking around again, Night checked behind a pair of bushes near the battle to see what he could find...

Eien's attention was quickly shifted to a Durabee, which appear next to a trainer that Eien didn't know. However, his glance only lingered a moment before shifting to the battle and then back to his wild searching. The Elwis had closed the gap but was not confused as to where the Meu had gone, it having gone along the back of the tree to find that it had moved quickly with its superior agility. It was very open to a strike from the young Meu's powers.

Eien was smiling as he continued his searching, moving a bit further way from the Durabee and the battle while his Kohitsuji continued to behave as a middle man between the various things that Eien had to keep his attention at least partially on. It would bleat warnings when he needed to pay more attention to what was going on than he was. But, since it seemed that Tomiko had the battle in the bag and the other trainer was new (and Eien was more apathetic to those he didn't know), he was able to devote all of his attention on searching for wilds.

So far though, he hadn't had much luck. The presence of the next Durabee made him think that this might have been a nest of them that the Elwis had been aiming to cause trouble with. However, it seemed to have gotten more than it bargained for with the two trainers and the Meu. The Durabee that kept appearing might be grateful to return to a more peaceful home and Eien would be glad to have a spot on his map to mark as a DNR, do not return. He never, ever, ever, wanted a Durabee. The creature was not suited to his style of combat and was just... well, awful.

Eien knew that Tomiko had spent a ton of relics on this Elwis.... so far they were up to 5 or 6, Eien wasn't sure since he was trying to find a wild Natrelmon for him to use some relics on, praying once again to Suzaku for both capturing the creature and to find another Natrelmon that he wanted. "Please...," he whispered, "Closing his eyes tightly for just a fraction of a moment....

Tomiko saw the moment, where all of her work would pay off. The Elwis had at this point become so aggravated that it had left itself open. Readying a relic she directed the Meu to send a powerful psychic blast, focused as much as the young Meu could muster, directly towards the central body mass of Elwis. This would be highly effective and if it hit most likely knock Elwis out. As the Elwis was open, this seemed more than likely.

Tomiko waited with her relic, for the moment after the blast hit. To provide further incentive she directed Meu to jump down to a slightly lower branch, a move that would in all likelyhood draw the enraged Elwis's attention towards Meu goading it into an attack, and leaving it open to the Telekinetic Glare already sent at its body.
