Tournament Battle #3 - Small Guy vs Big Guy

Night tookk a deep breath and let it liger for a moment within him before expelling the used oxygen. He was trying to calm himself and his wildly beating heart before the big tournament battle. His first battle... Night shook his head side to side abruptly to clear his thoughts from his mind. He needed to focus if he wanted to win this battle today. Or atleast, put up a fight instead of getting absolutely destoryed within the first five minutes...

" You ready Shiner? It's okay if you feel a bit nervous... " Explained Night casually in his attempt to calm the turtle he was holding out in front of him. The Kaigara looked at him right in the eyes with his own. It blinked for a moment a did something that was the closest any turtle would get to a sigh. Night and Knight nodded to eachother at the same moment before Night set the Natrelmon back onto the floor.

" Let's go! " Cheered Night with a war cry as he rushed out into the bright opening in front of him.

And almost went RIGHT over the small platform on his side of the arena. Only the efforts of Knight pulling on the bottom of his shorts with his teeth kept the youth from falling.

" Thanks... " Night mumbled with a sheepish grin. He reached deep into his pocket and pulled out a purple marble. Knight collapsed into purple smoke and withdrew into the marble. In a few more moments, the Kaigara re-appeared in the small field 10 feet below Night.

The Arena was a small, pitiful place of show. Around 30 people were there and the battle ground itself was merely 20 feet across in width and 40 feet across in length. Less than 10 paces from each side would bring the competitors together in the middle.

On the other side of the Arena, Night's challenger would show with his own natrelmon. He already knew who it would be and was slightly intiminated by the man... The boy stared intently at the door way forty feet away with anxiousness and would continue to do so until the inevitable appearance of his opponent.

Samuel appeared through the doorway into the small arena. He squinted at the sudden light and peered across at his opponent. Smiling, he realized it was Night. So his guess that the first Trainer he met would also be his first opponent was right. This was fine. Even though the Night's Kaigara had both a natural defense and type advantage over Samuel's own Volcan, he still believed in his Natrelmon's abilities. It was his own abilities he was worried about. Despite all of Sujii's training, Samuel was nervous about his first time actually battling.

But his nervousness was not nearly enough to overcome his mind. Samuel released his Volcan opposite of Kaigara. Calling out to Night, he asked, "Let's not use any Feeble Walls this fight, okay? It'll make things go faster." Assuming the other trainer agreed, Samuel motioned for Night to take the first move. Volcan tensed, ready to attack or dodge according to its master's orders.

Night gave his Knight a very simple command. One that would officially start this battle... " Go " He ordered quickly with a point (Despite being behind Knight) at Samuel and his Volcan. The turtle let out a gruff sound as some sort of acceptance of the order and began to trudge foward at a fairly slow pace to Volcan. It was moving at maybe a foot per second. Though this would take a painfully long time (for a battle) to reach the middle of the Arena, the steady movement would give it a chance to react quickly to attacks and movements Volcan used.

" This should be good... " Night mumbled to himself.

"Stay put," Samuel commanded. Volcan took the command, not moving a centimeter, allowing the Kaigara to make all the moves.

Kaigara yelled to Volcan in Natrel-Speak and said, " FUCK YOU AND YO COUCH! " and continued his steady pace. Around 5 seconds had passed.

Samuel grimaced. This fight was going to go nowhere fast. The opponent was clearly intent on not making the first move. Another of Sujii's lessons: patience is a virtue, but too much of it gets you killed.

After a quick command from Samuel, Volcan began strafing right quickly, firing paired bursts of Singe Bullets at Kaigara. It fired six bursts in all. The first and second burst was aimed at where the Kaigara would be if it continued on its regular path or stopped, since it wouldn't make much of a difference in the first place. The third, fourth, and fifth were aimed in front of the Kaigara in case it attempted to suddenly speed up. The last was aimed at Kaigara's left flank in the event that it sidestepped that way. All of these attacks were spaced out enough that no more than two Bullets could be blasted out of the way by a water move from Kaigara.

Night ordered his Kaigara (Who had only moved 5 feet) to quickly stop. " Aqua Burst! " Night stated with a rushing breath hoping his Natrelmon would do it quickly. Knight did not dissapoint and qucikly opened his mouth to release two Aqua Bursts. They were both fired to hit the first two Singe Bullets and would easily knock the two pebbles out of the way. Sincw the other Singe Bullets weren't aimed at his position, they would hit the ground they were targeted at with no penalty toward Kaigara. " Stay where you are and fire again, Shiner! " Called Night enthusiastically.

Knight fired five more shots from his opened mouth, with one aimed to strike Volcan squarely on his chest, one aimed to his right, one aimed to his left, one aimed to hit both him if he jumped and the area behind him if he backtracked, and one aimed ahead of him when he decided to dodge that way. The time lapse between each was no more than half a second and would make it hard for Volcan to dodge. Though the size of the attacks would make it take longer to reach Volcan than Volcan's lighter attacks had taken to reach Knight.

Since Volcan was strafing to the right this would mean he was either going side to side or he had attempted to move diagnally to the right upwards. Either way, the attacks would be fired appropriately to fit his movement. With the the Aqua burst on him being first, the one to his right being next, and the one to his left being third. The one to his front and back would land nearly at the same time due to the difference in distance between the two and the small amount of time between the firing of each.

Two of the Singe Bullets collided with Kaigara squarely, since it had only taken care of one burst. While the actual fire attack might not do that much harm, the kinetic energy from the high-velocity shots would do some sizeable damage. Not enough to finish the battle, but enough to make a decent start. However, assuming the hits didn't impede the Kaigara in any way, Samuel commanded Volcan to continue its movement ((laterally, by the way)) and simply raise an Earth Slab to block the attack to its right. The slab fractured as it caught the blow, but it did its job. The Aqua Shot was successfully blocked.

And now the armadillo Natrelmon had a slab of stone to work with. Cutting the already weak stone into three small blades, Volcan launched the weapons at Kaigara - one directly at, one in front of the Natrelmon, and another directly to the Kaigara's left. After each of these, Volcan sent a burst of three Singe Bullets, again spaced out so that no more than two could be knocked out of the way with a water attack.

"Now charge the Kaigara!" Samuel called out. While the Kaigara was dealing with the attacks coming its way, Volcan would half the distance between the two Natrelmon.

" Knock down all of them! " Ordered Night to Knight quickly. The Kaigara stood his ground and fired four Aqua bursts. The first was aimed to nail the Stone blade that was going to hit him and go on to hit Volcans Singe Bullet all the way to the right (All the way to the right meaning the most right one in the burst aimed to hi Kaigara). The next Aqua Burst was aimed to take out the other two Single Bullets in the burst aimed to hit Kaigara. The third one was to follow up and take down any remaining Singe Bullets aimed for Knight.

The very last one was aimed straight foward to hit Volcan straight on during his speed rush to half the distance.

The other Stone Blades and bursts of Singe Bullets would land uselessly to the left of Kaigara and a few feet in front of him. " Offense! " Yelled Night quickly to Shiner. Knight had already been planning to attack however, and started firing just as Night finished the word. Three Aqua Bursts were fired to take down Volcan, one was aimed to cover the area in front of him and where he was. Even if Volcan went backwards, the Burst would be able to hit him in the chest. The other two were at each side and were aimed slightly high. So that any slas put up to block the attack would only cut off the bottom half, while the rest would go over and hit the opponent with splash damage.

In the slight moment between Volcan halving the distance and Kaigara beginning to launch his attacks, Samuel commanded Volcan to raise a slab in front of itself. The armadillo complied, stopping and raising the slab immediately. This caught the center Aqua Shot, absorbing the kinetic energy and preventing any splashes from hitting Volcan. The other two Aqua shots passed harmlessly to either side of the Natrelmon, due to their . The slab cracked like the previous one had done, again making it easier for Volcan to cut it up into pieces and fire it at Kaigara.

Which, after a prompt from Samuel, it did. The slab was cut into three blades, and Volcan directed two directly at the Kaigara. The third was fired just to the Kaigara's left. Volcan fired four more bursts of Singe Bullets, one following the left blade, one following the middle blades, and two towards the Kaigara's right. Due to the proximity of the Natrelmon, no more than two Aqua Shots could be fired by the time the attacks hit.

" Slabs! " Night ordered Kaigara when the Aqua shot hit the slab. He had been familiar with Samuels normal tactics that he knew what was next. As the Volcan begin to shatter his own slab, Knight made three in front of himself one after the other in a way that would block each attacked aimed directly at him. Since each burst held ( I'm assuming one for each since when it was more than one you said so. And you've said paired bursts and three per burst before so I'm just going to specify this. ) held one Singe Bullet, there were two Singe Bullets following the one stone blade aimed at Knight.

The Stone blade smashed against the first first slab and shattered it so that it still stood but a gaping hole was in the top. The next Stone blade hit the next wall in Kaigara's defense and bounced off, but notbefore cracking it as well. Finally the singe bullet went through and hit the last wall. Though it did considerable less damage than the other two attacks due to its size.

Suddenly the walls broke apart and flew foward. With the distance now being around 13 feet, Volcan would have a tough time with the 9 Stone Blades flying at him. Three were aimed directly at him, each aiming to pierce and cause some shrapnel damage on impact. Three were aimed to its right, spaced so that while all three would hit the armidillo if it went to that side, no one slab could block all three at once. This was the same with the other three Stone Blades, aimed at his left side.

One Aqua shot was fired behind the barrage of three going at Volcan directly, and would go through whatever hole the Stone Blades made its defense. The though the three stone blades were that were fired to hit Volcan were pretty much launched at the same time, they were slightly behind each other so that one slab could knock block all three at once.

Due to the fact that Kaigara would only have time to raise two slabs, only the first two attacks were blocked. The Stone Blades effectively shattered the slabs enough for the Singe Bullets to hit the Kaigara full on unimpeded. One bullet would hit square in the face, two on the turtle's front right leg. Despite the turtle's natural defenses against Fire, a direct attack to the face would both fill its vision with ash, impeding its ability to attack and burn its eyes. While it was an attack that could be recovered from over the course of a couple minutes, time was not necessarily something Kaigara had on hand. The subsequent hits to the Kaigara's leg would make it unable to move effectively for a short amount of time.

Technically, not enough damage had been done to cause Night's Relic to start glowing, but if a judge had been overseeing the match, a TKO would have been called. But since there wasn't, Kaigara had all the right in the world to continue fighting. Volcan and Samuel knew this, even before the Singe Bullets had hit. After being commanded by Samuel, Volcan DODGED TO THE RIGHT and raised two stone slabs, one angle to catch two Stone Blades, the other to catch the final one. ((This is technically legal because you had the same amount of time to raise the same amount of slabs. Just saying.))

After successfully evading the attacks, Volcan began circling around the blinded Kaigara, not attacking out of respect if Night wished to finish the battle, but instantly ready to fire three new Stone Blades that it had cut out of the recently created slabs.

Night recalled the Kaigara to his relic. He frowned, he felt a bit cheated of how the one slab was able to block both Earth Blades, and how Night wasn't even able to hit Volcannon even once. But that wouldn't solve anything, it just meant he needed to learn alot if he was able to get his ass kicked this badly with such a large advantage. He gave a sigh and let Kaigara heal within the relic.

He would turn in his coin at the gate.
