Title Reborn Irrelevantly! HAIR BOMB ATTACK!!!

Eien was also in the tournament grounds, fresh back from his capture of a Meu. He had been standing fairly still the whole time that Auren had been there. Suspecting he was lost in thought, Eien waited for a moment to make his presence known, a slight 'ehem' while he adjusted his glasses and looked over Auren. He didn't continue for a moment, but quickly challenged Auren to a contest of strength.

"Would you like to battle?" Eien asked calmly, with a confidence that most trainers didn't have in challenging people, "Tournament or not? We could test our starters against each other for the grand finale, getting a tournament match out of the way. You must be one of the few still in the tournament? You can take your inhibitor off of your starter if you are more comfortable that way. For the first three, we can use our other Natrelmon."

Deciding to start this off well, Eien raised his hand which immediately radiated with light as a giant glyph appeared around him. From the light, a small, purple cat formed, taking its pose in front of Eien and waiting for Auren to call out his Natrelmon.

"Heh, calling out your natrelmon before I even have a chance to say yes. You're rather straightforward. I've already got a tournament match scheduled, so I'm not in the mood for our tournament fight, don't want to lose too much money if I lose both, but a normal team vs team would be fun." Auren Leland smiled, his left hand rummaging for a book while his left hand stabilized his slipping glasses.

Auren pulled the book out, which opened neatly in his hands as he splayed out his fingers. "I'm not sure whether or not Penkaz is my reserve ace, but, here he goes anyway. I guess he would have wanted to go first anyway." He said as he looked down for a moment, seeing which book he had picked.

Penkaz appeared about three feet from the ground, smiling and ready to go.

"I think Psychic types have a warning flash before their abilities are used. So make sure to dodge whenever Meu flashes. And don't dive bomb. That and feeble walls never goes well."

Penkaz nodded, keeping his eyes on the Meu for the warning flash. He began to slowly advance the fifteen feet distance between them.

Eien's command to Meu might be slightly surprising, since it was mostly a warning, "Prepare to use Aura Shield on my command." Other than that, the Meu just sat there and watched the Penkaz with its eyes. The cat type was poised in a defensive position, its tail swishing around behind it.

Eien wanted to see how his opponent fought. Type wise, Eien liked this match up. While there was no type advantage or disadvantage, Eien thought Meu's moveset was far superior to the Penkaz's, at least with Eien's preferred combat style. He had the defensive ability to withstand a number of blows. Even better at defending was Eien's Kohitsuji, who he was saving for later. He didn't know though, what kind of Natrelmon his opponent had in addition to his starting Penkaz.

Typically, Eien wouldn't want to start off with Kohitsuji, who was his ace in the hole. The lamb was far better in the clinch and if he could get it to evolve, he would be in a good position to take on later trainers and the various Natrelmon Arena. With inhibitors in the tournament, this was less of an issue.

"Penkaz, go ahead and use the Type O dragonbreath we talked about. Aim at his feet, so you can still see his eyes." Auren rattled off a short order as Eien gave his own. Auren knew that they were already in range of each other at eight feet, so he decided this would be a perfect time to test out the new type of dragonbreath in combat.

Penkaz, instead of the normal "Aah" breathing, formed his mouth much like one would when saying "ooh" except he didn't make an ooh sound and just breathed out magical dragonbreath. This allowed him to breath out a slightly faster, more cohesive, and longer ranged breath, able to to go slightly past the eight feet in length combined with the two level ups since his breath had been able to go seven feet in length, though there was less actual breath coming out, which would result in less damage. Or so was the principle. They hadn't actually tested it out yet.

Regardless, Penkaz would have a chance to dodge an attack at this range, so Auren was not worried about testing a new move in combat.

"Ready Backflip," Eien called to the cat, which began a flip backwards in the air, away from where the breath was about to strike. The cat was quite agile and very capable of dodging things like that. However, Eien had added in another surprise if Penkaz tried to adjust the blast of dragonbreath at the small cat.

Eien wasn't terribly impressed with the start of the battle, Meu more than capable of out maneuvering the small dragon's attacks. While his Meu began its combination move, Eien adjusted his glasses with one of his hands, tilting them back onto the bridge of his nose properly. The glare off of the lenses, which other people would be seeing, would be gone and Eien's very focused eyes would be seen. They were sharp an piercing, taking in every detail of the battle rapidly. Being able to stay sharp was important in Narelmon battles.

Something he did know, is that his Meu was much faster than the Penkaz, even in the air. He planned to use that to his advantage. Plus with the more agile creature, the Penkaz might have some issues staying away from his Meu. Thankfully for his opponent, Meu didn't possess Kohitsuji's ghost type, or the Penkaz would have probably been dropped quicker.

"Go ahead and let it move backwards if it likes. Wait for him to come back into range." Auren would speak to Penkaz if he was not interrupted by the need or want to say or do anything else.

Penkaz ceased firing as the Meu began the backflip, taking a quick gulp of air in case Meu immediately attacked, before resuming his normal breathing pattern. He hovered in midair, about three feet up.

Eien just let his cat, the same readiness as before, the cat landing before the Penkaz had finished its gulp. It hadn't initiated its special move, apparently. Eien nodded as the cat completed the motion, watching the Penkaz closely. He made no offensive motion at the opposing trainer's Natrelmon. He merely told his cat the same thing as before, telling it to prepare to use Aura Shield on his command, if needed. If this was the Penkaz's only offensive combination, Eien was confident his Meu would fare well in the battle. The standard Arena didn't lend itself well to taking advantage of the terrain, much to Eien's dismay. The fountain and tree were basically useless against a creature like a Penkaz.

He liked to use the terrain to his advantage, but it seemed like this fight would test more of his skills with the limited moves that his Meu had. The trainer of the Penkaz had the one advantage that he had a constant attack force with the dragonbreath. Of course, it still required that the creature breathe. That was something he might have to take advantage of.

"Neither of us seem keen on being the attacker here. Would you want to call it a draw between these two and move onto different natrelmon for now?" Auren offered. It didn't seem like Meu would do anything outright offensive until Penkaz made a mistake, and firing from this range with Penkaz would do nothing.

Penkaz did not initiate further attacks for the moment, unless conditions changed.

"I will pass on that offer," Eien replied, nodding at his Meu to begin its offensive with a Telekinetic Glare. He knew the Penkaz would dodge it, but in the wake of the blast, his Meu would have the grounds to approach the Penkaz quickly, fairly protected by the blast of psychic energy. Since his opponent was not keen to do anything offensive, Eien would. The cat was far more agile than the dragon, but the dragon had a power advantage. Eien had to be cautious with his proceedings. He knew his Meu understood that its preparation was a standing order.

He was more than ready, as was his Meu, to counter any attack issued by the Penkaz. The Penkaz would have to attack sometime, or this battle wouldn't end very quickly at all. Of course, Eien wasn't particularly fond of taking the offensive this early in the game, but some battles forced him too. It was easier than just throwing a rock. Mounting a true offensive would show his opponent that he was not playing around. The Penkaz's reaction to this would be crucial to Eien's plan overall. If it reacted properly, Eien felt confident he could end the battle swiftly.
