Eien searches alone [Forest] Empty
PostSubject: Eien searches alone [Forest]   Eien searches alone [Forest] I_icon_minitimeThu Apr 29, 2010 2:37 am

Tomiko had departed from Lifan, leaving Eien to do his searches by himself. He had gone through two fairly intensive fights, but had came out okay, as had is Natrlemon, which was the important thing. Since he had had decent luck in both the plains and the forest, he flipped a coin to decide which one to go too. In his flip, the forest had won.

The trek into the same parts of the forest he had been in earlier went far quicker. He was getting more and more familiar with the area. Being one of the few people still interested in the Suzaku Festival Tournament, he was obligated to stay around Lifan, since he had to continue forging forward with his Natrelmon.

It was an inbetween time, so for the most part, Eien was the only one around in the area. With the light beginning to get a bit dimmer, but still not quite night, Eien would be able to continue on into the night if he so wanted to. But, he hoped that he would be able to get his Natrelmon on the first try. One that he wanted. Maybe he would get that Albion he was after? Maybe he would get an Omu for Tomiko? He would definitely be giving the Swalest to Tomiko, since he really wasn't that much of a breeder. He would help contribute, but his pursuit of Natrelmon was solely to create a better battle team. Of course, his Atrix and Meu definitely seemed like a fair contribution to any farm project.

Eien patted Kohitsuji, who was walking along beside him as he searched. The sheep was very aware, ready to strike should Eien command it. It might be necessary, since the Elwis had shown that this forest could get dangerous.

PostSubject: Re: Eien searches alone [Forest]   Eien searches alone [Forest] I_icon_minitimeThu Apr 29, 2010 3:06 am

Eien saw the wild Swalest on the branch, the creature was something he already had on his team. He had no reason to get another one. He let it fly off and he continued on. He was after something a bit more special than a Swalest. Its ability was useful, but it was something that he didn't need another one of. He was sure that the bird would appreciate being able to be free for longer. Some other trainer would appreciate it far more than Eien. One Swalest was more than enough! What he needed now for the program was an Albion or an Omu!

He felt that his luck would eventually pay off once again. He was dedicated and continued to pursue despite having a lot of awful luck as well. There seemed to be very little middle ground for Eien, maybe because he was a bit too picky about what Natrelmon got on his team. The Atrix had shifted his opinion slightly, being more willing to take Natrelmon that he wasn't really after. He was still going to focus on psychic types, but he wouldn't pass immediately on Natrelmon that he thought could prove useful later on. He also knew that a number of the trainers would appreciate him taking some of the Natrelmon as they would be the end users of the products of his mixes.

Eien's thoughts more and more had drifted onto the farm and Tomiko's relationship with him. They seemed to be getting along really, really well now. There were no negative thoughts about him pursuing later projects with her. The farm was a splendid idea and her expertise in the area of breeding was far superior to his own. Although, it might not be knowledge, but she definitely was more skilled in the area.

Another thought had come to Eien's mind. If he could track down Kimlee, she would be able to help the two of them with the farm. Also, he thought about having Song Lin Tiao help, but that would be tricky with her parents being a bit of obstructionists to anything that might be dangerous for her or want her to try dangerous things. But, if he could get her involved, she would be a powerful asset, even with her disability. In Eien's time spent with her, he had basically forgotten she couldn't see. In Lifan, she was just as capable as he was. She was very, very capable.

Eien's search continued with nothing worthwhile for the next half hour or so. He heard a few Natrelmon skitter around in the underbrush, but there was nothing he could get to quick enough to really investigate. They all disappeared to quickly. He figured he would have to spend more time in the environment so that the creatures would get used to him. Then, they would feel less threatened and he may have a higher chance of getting some better Natrlemon. At least, it was some hope for him. He knew it probably wouldn't be anything useful, but he had to keep thinking positive.

In his journey so far, he had started to spend more time thinking about Suzaku. The legendary phoenix seemed to be giving him a bit of luck. Closing his eyes just a small bit, he sent out a small prayer to Suzaku once again. He asked for Suzaku to bless him once again with his luck so he could progress on his journey. He knew that few people had seen the phoenix in years, so it was unlikely that these hopes would be heard or acknowledged. But, it also made him feel better, much like his thoughts on his Natrelmon pursuit.

PostSubject: Re: Eien searches alone [Forest]   Eien searches alone [Forest] I_icon_minitimeThu Apr 29, 2010 2:21 pm

Eien's searches seemed to be going poorly again. He only ever seemed to have luck when Tomiko was around and that was usually after a streak of bad luck too! Sighing, he continued on with his search, determined to find a Natrelmon that was worthwhile. So far, he had only encountered a Swalest, which he already had. Swalest was a good Natrlemon for a breeding program, but he didn't really want to produce a bunch of them. Their ability for training birds faster didn't stack and there was just no need to store that many more birds on the farm. Even if he had captured the other Swalest, he wouldn't want to sell them to competitive breeders.

It was best he let it pass and hope that no other trainers managed to capture the Swalest. Right now, with the rare Atrix, the Sparwire, and the Golls, he would be able to make a powerful team. At that moment, an email came across with an offer he just couldn't refuse. The trainer her had fought in the tournament had learned that he had a pair of Golls and had made an offer on them. Eien read through it and countered with him taking both Golls, paying 500 N, and returning the lower leveled Goll when it got to 10 so he could breed them. Within moments, that offer was accepted, leaving Eien with a very happy feeling. The transfer of the creatures and money was near instant.

Eien was now down to 4 Natrelmon. He still had his Kohitsuji, which he started with. Then he had his two rare Natrelmon and the Swalest. He didn't really plan on keeping the Swalest that long. It was something that was better suited in Tomiko's hands, since its ability directly related to breeding. It didn't really have that much combat potential, even though it wasn't that bad. He'd still choose a Swalest over something like a Lapher or a Livine. Right now, given his knack for encountering Natrelmon he already had, he was just hoping he didn't encounter another Lapher or Livine. He was rather sick of running into those two. Aside from his Rares, he had only had Natrelmon he had encountered more than one of. More than one Swalest, more than one Livine, more than one Lapher, more than one Goll! He had actually encountered 3 Golls, which was just quite impressive. Some trainers typically went after Goll, so he probably could have sold them. However, it was much better for him to continue to pursue Natrelmon he would actually train. The Golls would be happier in the long run though being in the hands of another trainer, even if just for a short bit. The stronger one definitely would get its day in combat, something it deserved. Right now, all it did was sit in its relic, along with the other Goll.

Eien's search continued. Deciding to try a different area, he pulled up a map of the area and started wandering around towards a new zone. Maybe he would have better luck there? He didn't know, but it was worth at try. He might even encounter a Natrelmon he was actually after. He was getting rather tired of passing up all of these Natrelmon, Natrelmon many people would be insane to pass up. But, he was picky. It was the way he was and it was something that he thought helped him be a better trainer. He was much more dedicated to the psychic type, allowing him to focus on creating advanced strategies with that type alone. There would probably be many hard fought matches for him, where his psychics were not nearly as useful, but he still was confident in his Natrelmon's ability to triumph if he handled them properly. Many of the people were flooding the gyms in Toran and Ward. He knew that Tomiko had also gone to challenge them. However, Eien needed to stay for the tournament. He was confident that he could place high enough that he would be able to at least garner some kind of worthwhile reward.

He had already made 2000 N, on top of what he started with. That would definitely be helpful towards the farm. He still had forgotten to go visit Song Lin Tiao. He had just been so focused on things.... He felt a bit bad about this, since she was a good friend. However, he knew that she would understand. She never really held grudges for things like that. She was a very understanding person when it came to things like that. She just expected the same kind of extension to herself, which was fair, at least in Eien's mind.

With a bit of renewed energy with the positive thoughts, Eien was able to surge forward in the forest. He was soon in a new area with another strip of that small brook he had found on one of his first nights searching for Natrelmon. He knew, however, that it was not the same area. The layout was much different and the trees seemed a bit denser. It was also very cool in the area, most likely because of the cold water. It was very refreshing.

Eien decided to take a small break and eat a snack, much like the last time he was in an area like this. Putting his back up against a tree, he pulled out a small bar and began eating. Kohitsuji, Atrix, Meu, and Swalest were released from their relics to have a bit of free time as well. Meu and Kohitsuji ran around wildly chasing each other. Meu kept getting upset when Kohitsuji would go Intangible and disappear into a tree or the ground and appear behind it. Atrix preened herself on a branch on a nearby tree while Swalest hopped around on a branch near Atrix. It wasn't nervous or anything, it just felt it was sufficiently clean and it wasn't able to build a nest here. It was just hopping around burning off excess energy. He felt a bit bad that the free time wasn't really fair to the Swalest's nature, which meant he would have to get it to Tomiko as soon as possible. There, its abilities would be more appreciated and it would be able to do what it wanted.

After a short 10 minute break he called them all back into their relics and stood, stretching his arms out as he did. With all of the tight muscles stretched out a bit, he shifted his pack and hopped over the brook and to a new area of the forest that he hadn't been in. He felt good about this area. He didn't think his luck would ever be as good as the Atrix or Meu encounters, but he still was feeling very positive about this new area. It definitely wouldn't hurt anything? Who knew? Maybe he would get struck again with some luck and find another rare Natrelmon.

Much to Eien's surprise, he found a decent Natrelmon! A Datic appeared in front of him and Eien didn't think twice. Holding out one of his relics, he sent the beam out to capture the creature within its confines.

After catching the Datic, Eien continued on with his search. With the things he had to accomplish tomorrow, he had to try to catch something else that was good. The Datic gave him a bit of hope that his luck was improving again. This was similar to what happened to him just before he caught the Meu and the Atrix. If this continued on a trend like this, who knew what he would get? He was very, very hopeful that he would get something good. The Datic would be something that Tomiko would probably like, since it could crossbreed with Metosune once they got an Omucaw.

That was the next item on the agenda, that or an Albion.... Either of those would give the breeding program a powerful, powerful boost. Of course, Albion still required an Omucaw. But, with Genetic Bridge, the number of types that could be mixed increased drastically. It was that kind of thing that excited Eien. With it, he could mix things like Adra and Crysuji, even though they weren't even remotely similar. Of course, that wasn't a mix he'd actually do, since he didn't that would look that good. True, power was important, but at least SOME style was necessary. It'd be like breeding a Lapher with a Wone. People just didn't do it, even though it was possible. Seriously, a rat and a giant worm? It would just not mix well.

Eien was already thinking up possible mixes with the Datic. The Metosune still was the front runner, but it would be an interesting mix with a Meu. With an Albion, that kind of mix would be possible and it was definitely one to consider worthwhile. Meu was powerful on its own and Datic's higher stages gave it that same kind of power, making the mix with the gained innates much more attractive. It was something to consider. He would have to discuss any mixes with Tomiko first though. Snapping his mind back to attention, he noticed a rustle nearby....

Eien searches alone [Forest] Empty
PostSubject: Re: Eien searches alone [Forest]   Eien searches alone [Forest] I_icon_minitimeThu Apr 29, 2010 3:18 pm

Eien watched the Centice emerge and immediately left. They already had one of those between Tomiko and himself. There was no need to catch another since they were not that highly desirable. There were far better Natrelmon in this forest, Eien just needed to keep looking for them and stay focused on his goals. Centice wouldn't help with those and it would be much happier in the wild, where it could do what it wanted. Meu and Kohitsuji understood Eien's goals, at least he thought. He knew though that they knew he appreciated them. It did make him feel guilty that the Swalest and the Atrix probably would never get that much attention, even though he did frequently admire Atrix's beauty.

He sighed, hoping that none of his Natrelmon would have any ill feelings against him. He kept them healthy and safe. And soon, they would be able to do what they wanted on a farm. He just needed to get more money and more Natrelmon to put on the farm with them. He definitely knew the Swalest and the Atrix would be much happier with that than with staying around with Eien.

The search for Natrelmon continued, Eien pushing on even further than before. He was much further out in the forest than he had ever been. It was a lot darker here, since the trees were much closer together. Of course, it didn't help that the light was dying down a bit, making the amount of light that was even around smaller. He thought about calling out Atrix but figured that the could press on a little longer without calling out the bird to be used as a light source.

Eien actually enjoyed the dark though. It was quieter and more peaceful. The night also had a nice smell to it, one that was refreshing to the body. It was as close to the fresh rain scent as one could get without it raining. So, he had no issues searching around at night, especially with his now stronger Kohitsuji. He had faith that Kohitsuji could handle any Natrelmon out here with relative ease. It had already demonstrated it was very capable against a type it didn't have the largest advantage against.

From what he knew about the remaining people in the tournament, type wise, the match up probably wouldn't be as hard. He'd be able to use more of the defensive abilities of his Natrlemon since they didn't have the ghost type. That made him significantly more comfortable. However, he knew there was a Penkaz and a Sparwire left, the three of them covering all of the growth rates. The Penkaz and Sparwire both possessed the ability to maintain a constant assault with their innates. Kohitsuji didn't quite have that same ability, although it did have a useful ability for constant use....

Aghast! Directly in Eien's sight, an extremely rare Natrelmon was observing him from above, quite visible and perched on an extended branch: in the form of an average-sized nightengale, the powerful Shiflu was staring intently at Eien, head slightly cocked to the side as if curious to why such a new trainer had stumbled upon it.

Eien would note that the forest was still and quiet, this Shiflu's presence, in itself, suffocating the area around it simply with its sense of power: the few chirps it gave were well known by both prey and predators as belonging to the wielder of the song of death, not to mention the considerable power that it holds...

Eien was shocked at the presence of another rare Natrelmon. Sadly, it still wasn't anything he actually wanted... However, the creature was rare and would be a good creature to get into a breeding program, if not just sell it for a large amount of money. In the hands of a clever trainer, it had the potential to be one of the most powerful Natrelmon....

He gave a small bird chirp at the creature to get its attention, Kohitsuji beside him. Both of them were very tense, but he was hoping he could approach the bird in a non aggressive manner. He hoped it would understand that it wasn't out to hurt him. Of course, it was also easy to understand that Eien was reasonably tense. It wasn't every day someone came across a creature like this...

Keeping its perched position and curious look, the Shiflu beat its wings a few times while giving a chirp of its own, almost as if beckoning the trainer to do something. Once doing so, it would return to its relaxed, yet alert, state once more, still curiously watching the trainer, almost as to how a child would look at a new toy. The force of its wings caused a few leaves to fall in front of it; other than that, there was no real interesting response to Eien's chirp.

Eien stopped about 18 feet from the creature, making sure that he didn't get too close to it. It was a dangerous creature if it wanted to be, but it was definitely one of the more peaceful creatures in the world of Nerta, at least creatures of its caliber. Eien gave another whistle to the bird, mimicking its chirp as best as he could. It wasn't bad, in Eien's mind. The bird was said to be based on the spirit of a flutist. The bird was clearly a musical representation.

Eien had to be cautious about how he proceeded with the bird, but he held up a relic for the bird to see, so it would understand that Eien wanted to take him with. He knew the creature probably wouldn't want to go with him, but it was definitely worth the chance. Kohitsuji bleated a warning to Eien, wanting his trainer to be careful.

The bird looked curiously at Eien for a moment, before letting out a low, negative-sounding coo, that suggested that it didn't want to go inside the relic, but would rather prefer to stay free and singing its song for the world. Yet, it still remained, ready for whatever challenge the trainer could bring...

Eien sighed, knowing that he would have to try to catch. Taking shelter behind a tree, he ordered Kohitsuji to fire a Ghostly Light at the Shiflu and then go invisible. The sheep would be impossible to see and the ground, being near to the brook, was far from dusty. That meant bowing lots of wind around would not kick up dust to make the Natrelmon easy to find. Eien knew that if he was going to even had a chance at catching this Natrelmon, he would have to be incredibly, incredibly clever.

It would probably the toughest fight he would ever have...

From its position, the Swiflu gave a powerful beat towards the branch, causing the ghostly light to fly though and past the position it was previously occupying, before simply landing on the branch again. Despite the fact that it would yield no results, the Swiflu still used a twister to kick up leaves and dust en masse, so as to create a field of visibility where the sheep would be seen if it decided to approach the Swiflu for a wide area. This was solely done to kick up debris: even in this battle, Swiflu was taking everything seriously.

With the mass amounts of trees and the ground the way it is, Eien's Kohitsuji's position was not given up by the wind technqiue. the lamb had moved as fast as it could off to the side, moving stealthily as it waited for a chance to strike out at Shiflu. The lamb was not anywhere to be seen. Eien currently had the lamb hiding behind a tree, preparing a combination technique that he thought might have a chance at hitting the Shiflu. It put the Shiflu, from Eien's guesses, about 15 feet from the lamb Natrelmon, just nowhere within the field of vision of the Shiflu. The thicker trees provided great cover from the sight of the Shiflu, as well as its buffeting wind attacks.

Eien was tense. This would require near perfect strategizing in order to even have a chance at pulling this off. If he could do it.... he would definitely have something to show people as a demonstration of his skill. Not that he knew it was lacking, but taking out a creature like Shiflu with his current Natrelmon, would be very impressive. It would even reaffirm himself, banishing any self-doubt.

He did look at the Shiflu during this time, "You want me to make this more interesting for you? I can call out my Meu too. We both know it would be a far more challenging fight for you that way."

"Brvrr?" a questioning tone came from the Swiflu, actually curious to see what Eien had planned by using a second creature. It rarely had the need or want to stretch its wings... but a little cat and mouse would be fun, this bird thought...

PostSubject: Re: Eien searches alone [Forest]   Eien searches alone [Forest] I_icon_minitimeThu Apr 29, 2010 11:12 pm

Eien took the 'Brvrr' as a yes. The creatures was very capable of understanding such things like that, Shiflu being one of the most intelligent creatures in Nerta. While it may not be able to communicate directly with the trainer in English like some creatures, it was still capable of communicating in some form. With the Meu now summoned in front of him, he had the cat creature stay at his side.

"I'm not going to use the Meu yet," he told the Shiflu, "I want to challenge you with my Kohitsuji first. Then, if you prove to be too powerful... then Meu will get involved." He felt it was a fair proposition to the Natrelmon. With a snap of his fingers, he gave the cue to Kohitsuji to initiate its plan. From behind a tree, in a strange arc, a Ghostly Light flew out at the Shiflu.

It was approaching from Shiflu's left and was far from much of a threat. It was just a solitary Ghostly Light. The tree was clearly the one that Kohitsuji had been hiding behind. Being cautious, Eien had the Kohitsuji use its power on its own attack, allowing it to arc. Although, it had limited to control, so it couldn't control it beyond just altering the aim like it did when it was right next to it. The tree was necessary to protect Kohitsuji from the powerful backlash that could be created by the Shiflu.

Taking the ghostly light more as a beacon than anything else, the bird left its perch and, staying below the passing-above ghostly light, flew towards the source of the light with an attack prepared to overwhelm the creature...

As the Shiflu would round the corner of the tree to strike out at the lamb, it would only find a Ghostly Light zooming right at it, Kohitsuji nowhere on the ground where it would be expected. This was something that he would expect to confuse the Shiflu, Kohitsuji having held the light in place as the other one flew and then released it when Eien's arm dropped.

Kohitsuji itself had moved away from the area, behind a nearby tree with a path to it that was not in the Shiflu's vision. Eien wouldn't be able to keep this kind of strategy up for long, but he hoped he would demonstrate to the bird that he was capable of putting up a decent fight. It was clear that Kohitsuji would be behind the tree that it now was. But it was also something Eien had no issue with the Shiflu knowing. He expected this demonstration would prove to the Shiflu that just rounding a corner to strike at his lamb wouldn't work. It would have to be smart too.

Meu was ready to get into the battle if needed, but for now he was confident Kohitsuji could continue its display of power. Even though it was level 8, his Kohitsuji was doing splendidly.

"I hope you are enjoying yourself," he called to the Shiflu, still able to give physical signals to his Kohitsuji with the angle he had. Eien, who had used physical signlas on more than one occasion, knew to keep his eyes on his opponent or in a dead space, since looking at his Kohitsuji would give the positioning away.
