Isaac yawned, glancing out at the park once more. It was the day after his Natrelmon hunt with Ashlee, and he was rather happy with the results, not thinking about the Natrelmon. He found he was spending more and more of his time here. It was really the prettiest part of the city, in his opinion. Bruse lay beside him, dozing in the sun.

A large, flat area lay out before him, dotted with flowers. It was really almost inspirational enough for him to draw... but he was feeling sleepy. It was just that kind of afternoon. He patted the young bull on the side absentmindedly, leaning back.

"We'll get you some training some time today, little guy..." he said casually.

Sven slugged into town with a disappointed look upon his face. The night before had been so heartbreaking. "A giant flash of light," he moaned to his Kaigara, "and not so much as a rustle afterwards." He had known that it was an extremely rare Natrelmon. It had to be. If only he hadn't spooked it.

Turtatresta spontaneously wondered away from Sven at some strange point in time. He hadn't realized it until he spied her starring at a small calf, presumably a Bruse. She was simply laying there, maybe a foot from its face, starring at it intently.

Sven hurried to the trainer of the Bruse, apologizing and attempting to drag his Natrelmon away. But all the turtle did was grunt and stomp its foot, never looking away from the Bruse. "Turtatresta, what's gotten into you?" He mumbled, looking at the trainer with a worried look.

Bruse opened an eye, and stared at the turtle, exhaling. He didn't seem inclined to do much about it. His tail flicked about casually. Isaac sat up, rubbing his eyes, and looked at the strange trainer. "Um, hi," he said. He yawned, stretching, and then noticed the turtle. "It looks like your turtle wants to fight my Bruse," he commented, patting Bruse's side again. He didn't make a direct battle invitation, though. He'd love to get some training in, but at the same time he also wanted to go back to sleep. Either or.

"Is that what you want, Turtatresta?" She immediately began to grunt and shuffle, pleased by the suggestions. "Fine, ruin my plans of relaxation.." He said glumly. However, inside, he wanted something to distract him from the loss at a chance for a VR Natrelmon.

"Well, I guess we'd like a battle, then. Just to make it interesting, 500N each, as a wager?" He asked, backing up fifteen feet, with Kaigara positioned two feet directly in front of him.

Isaac shrugged, looking concerned for a minute. "Um... I don't have that much cash left... well... um... actually, alright, let's do it!" He rose to his feet, prodding Bruse with his toe. "Come on, lazy bones, you've got a battle to win!"

Bruse rose to his feet, yawning. He shook himself, rather like a wet dog, and looked around, finally focusing on the turtle. "Go get him, Bruse!" Isaac exclaimed. Bruse snorted and started toward the turtle, first at a trot, evolving into a full gallop.

"Go show him who's boss!"

"Blades, Kaigara." Turtatresta simply threw three diagonal slabs, facing the Bruse. They were space five inches apart, and lined up from right to left. These sprung up less than two feet in front of Bruse. And even if it decided it would jump, it would land on a three foot long, not necessarily tall slab, which had the ability to jut into Bruse's gut and possibly injure it internally, for it was blunt, not sharp.

But this was assuming, at full gallop, Bruse had the ability to jump over three foot, facing inward, stone blades. And if it decided to dodge them, which it would have to slow down considerably (almost to a dead stop), Kaigara could still attack it while it attempted to dodge, (IN WHICH IT WOULD BE VERY SLOW AFTERWARDS.)

What the Kaigara failed to take into account was that stone blades, as a rule, were relatively slow moving despite their power. Since they started to come up so close in front of the Bruse and the bull was already moving at that high speed, he easily passed over them before they were even a quarter foot off the ground. The other slab, formed further along, had more time to develop. Bruse leaped into the air and easily clearing that not necessarily tall slab, now, having more time to react and only one blade to pass over.

The distance between turtle and bull was closing, and he'd not lost momentum given he'd not dodged to the side. If the turtle didn't do something fast the Bruse would make contact in what would be a devastating blow given the Bruse's momentum, superior size, fighting type and sharp horns.

"Prepare for an assisted leap!" Isaac exclaimed as the Bruse cleared the slab. He focused intently from the sidelines, readying his feeble walls for last-second placement...

"Now!" commanded Sven, pointing his finger for dramatic effect. A 'beam' of earth debris and particles shot from the ground, directed at the calf's face, while the Bruse was jumping over the last slab and descending. Mid-air, it would be impossible to dodge. And if it did miraculously somehow turn its body in the middle of a jump, the landing would be all but graceful, setting up the cow for an easy defeat.

The Earth Shot would blind it if it hit, not allowing it to see Kaigara move two feet to the right, firing diagonally at the torso of Bruse with an Aqua Shot, which was timed so that it would impact the middle of the stomach region at the speed and direction it was moving.

Another blade, identically positioned and formed like the first three, appeared, again, two feet in front of the Bruse's path.

As Bruse was beginning to descend in his leap and as Sven yelled out his order, something unexpected happened. Well, unexpected for Sven and Kaigara, in any case. The Bruse's feet touched down on what seemed to be thin air, and he pushed off, continuing the leap down toward the turtle much faster than expected. The earth shot passed underneath the bull and missed completely. The bull also passed over the blade.

Now landing in front of the turtle as it sidled to the right, preparing its aqua shot, the bull thrust toward the tortoise's head and neck area with his horns. There wouldn't be time to fire the aqua shot at this point or, really, fire any sort of attack. A turtle's slow land speed would make an evasion pretty much impossible, and Sven's surprise at the attack and lack of focus on spells would mean there wouldn't be a feeble wall to defend.

If the attack was successful, Sven's relic would flash brightly as the horns impaled the turtle...

The bull would come head to.. wall.. with a spell of Sven's. This crash occurred due to the Feeble wall that was positioned two feet in front of Kaigara's position, almost inches away from where the Brush began its thrust.

Because of the sudden impact, and the reduction of the very little momentum it had, this gave Kaigara time enough to move a foot to the right and turn, which, in turn, was enough to easily fire its attacks while Bruse recovered from the slight stumble it was sent into.

Directly in front of the Bruse came another Earth Shot, which was fired seconds after the Bruse unknowingly rammed through the Feeble Wall. Three Aqua Shots were fired in front of the still moving, presumably blind, Bruse. Kaigara was also ready to dodge, and Sven was ready to use his other Feeble Wall.

As Bruse rammed the feeble wall, he recoiled a moment. The earth shot shot up past his face, missing completely, and the aqua shots hit the ground in front of it to form a small puddle. Not missing a beat, the bull lunged toward the turtle again, this time with more force. Despite being ready to dodge, it was, after all, a turtle. Turtles were not made for dodging. Moving to either side would prove a fruitless effort in trying to evade the lunge.

Isaac focused on his feeble wall, knowing it was only a matter of time before his bull ran out of luck and needed someone to block for him.

"Slab, then shot, Turtatresta." A stone slab similar to the one the Kaigara had created before appeared a little less than a foot in front of Turtatresta. It would be fully grown by the time Bruse had reached it, which left it no other choice but to either turn, which was highly implausible and would make it very easy for Kaigara to deal a deadly blow; or jump, which would lead it to turn around and charge once more, giving Turtatresta, who would be prepared for the event, time enough to turn and counter-attack, and then return to defending to do the same thing. And if it managed to somehow get close enough to attack, Sven always had his last Feeble Wall.

The Kaigara would only begin turning once it saw Bruse's feet leave air. It was impossible for the Bruse to jump onto the Kaigara, lest its back legs be mutilated by the blade. Once it turned, it would most likely see the Bruse doing the exact same thing, but about three feet away. This would give Turtatresta a window of opportunity to fire, horizontally, an Earth Shot, directly at the Bruse's face. Kaigara was prepared to throw up another slab once it fired the Earth Shot.
