Digging in the tundra proved to be an arduous task, one that would take many months to do alone. Having Teleported back to Relin as the storm struck, Axel decided he would have to hire help in order to excavate the area. So far, his effort's had uncovered a single stone brick, cut with great care, as though it had been a part of some ancient building or highway. This proved that there was indeed something of importance there.

It didn't take long to find workers. It would cost about 250N a week. Axel made note to check up on the progress every couple of days to see how it was coming along. Recovering his warmth and strength in a nice hotel, Axel woke up the next day with intent on visiting his home before heading towards Toran to challenge the first Arena. After a warm shower and dressing in his best attire, he Telepor'd to his home in Ward.

It was quiet. His family was obviously out and about, as they normally were. They were rarely ever home. They enjoyed being out and about, enjoying their old age by frivolously blowing their wealth on any delicacy or shiny trinket they just had to have. That was fine with Axel. He didn't care much for his parents anymore. His father looked down on him ever since the war and hardly even acknowledged his existence.

With a sigh, Axel exited the main hallway and headed to his room. When he was smaller, the house used to seem like a maze. Now he knew it like the back of his hand. Pictures of his relatives lined the walls along with relic weapons, family crests that had been modified through the years, and more then a few trophy animals.

His room was nothing spectacular. In fact, it was very old fashioned. A large King sized bed dominated the middle of the room. Drapes fashioned with his family crest covered his windows. Several dressers and a desk were against the far wall, all carved of a dark wood. A bookshelf was on the opposite side. A faint layer of dust covered them. Hung on the wall above them was a family sword and shield. The sword was not sharp and the shield did not have a scratch on it. They were merely decorative pieces. In the walk-in closet was an assortment of practice clothing, casual ware, practice wasters and armor, and mementos.

Growing bored of reminiscing in the house, Axel decided to head to the plains for a little training. Buckling his sword on and donning some comfortable training gear, Axel closed his eyes and focused on the plains. The grass blowing in the wind, the bright sun, the wild natrelmon grazing and hunting, and the endless ocean of green and yellow. With a flash, Axel opened his eyes and he was there.

Holding his hand above and in front of his head, he focused on supercharging his hand, creating a miniature magnetic field. A spark left his fingertip and struck the specially designed hilt, magnetizing it. The hilt of his sword flew to his hand as he magically unsheathed his blade. It was merely a parlor trick, yet it still brought a cocky grin to his face. Magic came to him so easily, almost too easily. Controlling the elements was almost like breathing to him, natural.

Shifting his attention to his blade, admiration struck him. it was a beautifully crafted piece. The hilt was shaped to fit his hand perfectly. As it traveled up towards the blade, it became wolf shaped. It appeared as if the blade was exiting the wolfs mouth. Gems were set in the eyes, giving the wolf an almost predator glare in the sunlight. The blade itself was a little over three feet in length with a razor sharp edge.

With a practice swipe, Axel scythed through the tall grass. Taking a stance, he began to go through the motions he had practiced since he was a little child. The movement got faster and faster, the sword seeming to take on a life of its own. Soon, it was simply a blur, like a silver snake hissing through the air. Hacking and slashing at invisible enemies, his breathing calm and even. Sweat began to pour from his body, soaking his clothes. The breeze felt like a cool kiss upon his skin as he did the dance of death.

A clinking sound halted him mid swing. Turning quickly and taking up a guard stance, Axel faced whatever was behind him. It was a Lancelot. Even in day, it glowed a bright white light. It wore white and gold armor, which seemed t be a second skin to it. It wielded a brilliant longsword, almost as if a god had come down and crafted it for him. It stood at about average human height and could almost pass for a normal person if it weren't for the peculiar glow.

Lancelots were honorable creatures, or so he had been told. Lowering his sword, Axel nodded towards the creature. With a nod back, it drew its sword and took a guard stance. With its other hand, it beckoned him forward, almost as if it wanted to test his mettle. With a smile, Axel went to a forward charge stance. Without hesitation, he rushed forward..
