Even more wild searching (Itsuki) Empty
PostSubject: Even more wild searching (Itsuki)   Even more wild searching (Itsuki) I_icon_minitimeSat Oct 30, 2010 1:00 am

It was the day following the tournament, early dusk hitting the sky when most Natrelmon would be active, or non-alert and just stirring from sleep. Coming from a weird loss involving right turns the previous day... yes, right turns... Valerie found herself once more in a familiar part of the forests of Sakura, searching for Natrelmon. Thanks to the Pinehearst industry, she now had a more powerful Hydrus and Sparwire with her, the Hydrus currently padding around Valerie's feet, not actively aware as it merely rubbed against her angles without direction, giving the occasional purr as it did so.

Valerie was again searching in the part of the forest where she thought she could find Livine, the sprite of the forest: a thick underbrush lay before her, inches deep in dandelions and wild grass, the perfect habitat for hunting grass Natrelmon, or even fire Natrelmon who would have a natural advantage fighting in such a range. Hydrus batted at the older flowers of the dandelions as Valerie waded in, white petals straying off and planting themselves on the path and the other side of the path, where they would eventually become annoying and scratchy weeds that would need to be pulled to keep the path clean. Clearly, Hydrus had not a care in the world.

A stirring could be sensed in the form of a shake in the grass before Valerie, her gaze quickly setting on it. It seemed small, or perhaps just the disturbance of a burrowing creature. Still, it served as a chance for a wild Natrelmon... curious, Hydrus padded behind Valerie as she skirted closer to investigate. And investigate she would, keeping a safe distance away as she crouched down to get a closer look at the Natrelmon she hoped was before her.

PostSubject: Re: Even more wild searching (Itsuki)   Even more wild searching (Itsuki) I_icon_minitimeSat Oct 30, 2010 1:13 am

Itsuki had decided to relocate to another part of the forest, having given up on meditating for now. He had actually strained himself having been in the lotus position for too long and was feeling the burn as he trudged through the forest. He rubbed his eyes a little as he stepped on a twig and almost shrieked, managing to contain himself at the cost of stumbling forwards into a tree. He grumbled to himself beneath his breath and sighed softly before plastering a smile on his face again and trudging forwards, Sakura-re tagging along intently. Sakura-Re seemed to reflect Itsuki's mood, weeping a little more than usual because her friend seemed to be upset and downtrodden - their moods were almost reflective, it seemed.

Trudging forwards, again, Itsuki decided to look in the first bush he saw in hopes of finding a seemingly elusive Lotulia, or something he could maybe TRADE for a Lotulia... He desperately wanted the Lotulia if only to breed it with Sakura-Re and make more Lotulia and more Sakura, he could sell them off to trainers who deserved the prettiness of those natrelmon, then! Ah, yes, he could make a fortune if only he could get a Lotulia to breed with his Sakura-Re. Itsuki was almost blinded by the thoughts of wealth and companionship as he stumbled forwards into another bush... Oddly enough, the same bush that Valerie had been searching in.

"Oh! Um... Hi there, I'm Itsuki!" Itsuki beamed as he saw someone else searching for Natrelmon, it had made his day to see someone else in the woods. He couldn't wait to ask all sorts of silly questions and hopefully make a friend who he could travel with, and make his journey as fun as he hoped. "I'm looking for a Lotulia... Well, any Natrelmon really. I've been meditating out in the woods all day and it's gotten me nothing but backache!" Itsuki laughed softly, already starting conversation despite it being very forward to do so. Itsuki was quite a forward person, come to think of it, it was just the way he was, he supposed.

Itsuki's talking quickly distracted Valerie from her recent find, a relatively young Xiao who quickly ran away when spotted. It wasn't a really eventful find: young, weak, and not able to be readily traded... still, it at least proved that Valerie still had some ability to locate wilds. The skills she didn't have that proved so useful last week had not left her; either that, or she was getting better at this trade that she had chosen for herself, against her parents' will.

She composed herself, looking over in Itsuki's direction, giving a smirk as she did so, the Hydrus standing further forward than Valerie did, as if curious of the other trainer that stood before it. It was recently caught only in the previous days, and thus the aspect of humans still confounded the poor thing. It was an entirely new and indefinitely larger world for this curious feline to explore, though it could not possibly comprehend that with its current level of mentality.

Valerie chuckled for a moment, thinking of Itsuki's very forward way of presenting himself as rather amusing... he had already gone on a tangent of conversation, with nothing probing that personal train of thought... well, at least she thought it weird to explain that he had a headache. Still, she found it appropriate to return his conversation in kind:

"Hi to you too," she said, somewhat formally, responding to the entirety of Itsuki's conversation, in opposition to simply introducing herself after he did. He left little space to do so, anyway. "I'm Valerie; I'm also out here looking for Natrelmon, but not a Lotulia... Hydrus here needs a pair of friends, I think, so I'm searching for a Dember and a Livine," she explained, rather simply, giving a rather common sentiment people had with those three Natrelmon: with two of them, their usefulness goes up a little bit, and with three, their abilities compound themselves even further, able to successfully go two on one versus most situations, perhaps barring the flock ability of a Crowire.

She chuckled a bit, realizing that she probably sounded slightly off by referring to her Natrelmon more than herself... it made herself sound slightly elusive, she felt, but she didn't think that Itsuki would especially mind, for some reason. "So, how long have you been out here?" Valerie asked, trying to push away from this dead-end topic of a conversation. "Are you another new trainer in these parts, or someone with a little more experience?" It was a fair question; Sakura was home to Natrelmon trainers of all skill levels, especially with the availability of starters here and the overall difficulty of the Sakura gym, which no new trainers would have a reasonable hope to defeat.

Hydrus was distracted in mid-conversation, which Valerie took notice to only a moment after she stopped speaking. Hydrus was looking off towards the direction of a knot in a tree, giving a noise as if something was off in that direction. Curious, Valerie also looked over in that direction, trying to discern the size and type of the creature, or if it was just the skirting of the passing-by of the wind, something that seemed overly common in the searching of wild Natrelmon. Overly common indeed... as if some higher force was driving it...

Silence held in the air, either in waiting for Itsuki's turn to speak, or in the calm before the finding of a Natrelmon...

Itsuki smiled at Valerie a little more, and looked down to the Natrelmon shifting its way beneath her feet. The Hydrus looked to be quite pretty, in actuality, despite the webbed paws. Itsuki couldn't help but want to touch it, but figured that if he did so his hand would slip away and it would be... Well, icky. He stared a little while longer, admiring the tail, the fur, the claws... The way it moved around Valerie, it was almost entrancing to someone with an attention span as short as Itsuki's.

"It's nice to finally meet someone else, though... I've not met anyone else apart from my challenger in the tournament so far and I didn't feel like asking him to come natrelmon hunting with me. Meeting you like this was a pleasant surprise, though, and I'm sure we'll find something together at least, right?" Itsuki smiled before looking around and sighing drearily - he didn't have the keen senses needed to hunt Natrelmon, he didn't think. It was better to leave tracking and hunting to the professionals, heh!

"Oh! Yeah, I'm a new trainer here... Not been at this long, and I certainly didn't come to challenge our Gym - it's really quite a tough gym and I would honestly get destroyed in there. I'm from Sakura originally so I didn't really have to do much about the tournament, it was just a normal day for me. How about you? I would guess you have at least a little more experience than I do because of the other Natrelmon you have. And what was your starter, if you don't mind me asking? I always like to know what someone's starter is." Itsuki smiled as he continued to look onwards.

((Ending first succession. Dang 60s.))

"Oh, you want to go searching together? Sounds like a good idea," Valerie said, inputting the question that Itsuki implied and assumed that the answer was 'yes' to. Well, since they were both out and searching already, Valerie figured, it was a safe assumption to make... at least she figured. In a way, it was slightly safer, in case some random very strong Aerosor decided to show up and attack. In that regard, one of them could stay behind as bait while the other ran the heck away. No way that two barely-trained Natrelmon could stand up to the punishment of that sort of behemoth, though... only in a pipe dream...

"Don't worry, I'm sure we'll find something," Valerie continued. "And if we don't, well, let's just enjoy the walk, alright?" She seemed decent at carrying on the conversation, at least, carefully listening as Itsuki explained his situation as a trainer:

"Ah, don't think too far, I'm a new trainer as well. I just found this Hydrus last time I went out searching for Natrelmon; I was fairly lucky, I suppose," Valerie commented, with a mild smirk on her face, when she was then asked who her starter was. "Oh, Sparwire," she added. "Sparwire's still taking a rest from our tournament battle, though," Valerie added, in case Itsuki wanted to see it. No, with its condition of smashing into the ground, it wanted to rest in its relic, most certainly. "And who is your starter?"

The Hydrus seemed slightly aware of the attention that Itsuki was giving him, and looked curiously over in his direction, slightly perplexed as to why it was receiving more attention than its trainer. It didn't seem like Hydrus would be the center of attention, anyway.

SUDDENLY...

Itsuki smiled again and decided it was going to be alright if he gave the Hydrus something as trivial as a stroke, right? He reached down and gently patted the Hydrus and gave it a quick stroke, laughing a little as his hand almost slipped from the cat's skin. It was almost funny to watch Itsuki as he gave it another stroke and his hand followed the same motion, and again. He was sure the Hydrus would like the attention - he knew for sure that all cats seemed to like attention even if they were mad. The Hydrus wouldn't react in a negative way, at least, even if it wasn't positive!

"Sakura! It's a funny story, really, but Sakura and I actually 'met' when I was wandering around out house's grounds. I chased her and chased her, hoping to make friends because she was so pretty... And she ran away, being a Natrelmon and all - but she came back the next day. This repeated for a little while and eventually we became friends! I know it's all cliche, but what can I say, this is the kinda stuff that happens to me." Itsuki giggled as he looked around nonchalantly, wondering what to focus on next.

"I wonder what other Natrelmon would be useful... I'm sure that I could use something. But what...? I like ice types, and grass types... A psychic type would be fun, too - they are always fun... Or a ghost! Ghosts are always fun, I really like Ghost types. Unless they're scary, that is... I don't like to be scared." Itsuki mumbled to himself, thinking aloud, so to speak...

The mumbling of Itsuki would be interrupted by the appearance of a Datic, pushing through the brush in plain sight of the male trainer, looking curiously over at him and the others, before focusing on Itsuki. It seemed rather young, not knowing the perils it may face trying to fight trainers.

It stood about eight feet away, not feeling threatened by the water type or the trainer with no Natrelmon out; it merely looked over at Itsuki with a tilted head.

A small Swalest was hopping around the floor of the forest, looking for food and other-such things when it noticed a person, no, two people and a bunch of unfamiliar Natrelmon - it could see that there was a Hydrus and a Sakura-Re, but couldn't really do much other than hope they hadn't noticed it. It took another step forwards and looked curiously at both Valerie and Itsuki.

The Hydrus looked over at the Swalest, glancing briefly over back at Valerie, who nodded, giving a small order to the Hydrus, who then looked back over at the Swalest with vindication, ready for action.

The Hydrus took a few steps forward towards the bird, where it would then fire out an aqua shot directly at the center of the grounded bird. Whether this attack succeeded or not was irrelevant; barring another circumstance, the Hydrus would run towards the Swalest in an attempt to close the distance.

This action, of course, depended on how the situation would play out, and would change accordingly.

Sakura-Re was ready for action, and the weeping cherry tree quickly launched fifteen of its razor-sharp petals at the Datic, five headed straight for it, five curving around to the left and five curving around to the right - The razor petals would all hit the Datic unless it moved, and it would do some good damage if it hit. Sakura-Re was also prepared to use Giashocks if necessary and was pumped up, ready for the battle. It wanted to impress Itsuki and show him how powerful it was, as all Natrelmon secretly desired.

Itsuki, however, was more lax and simply wanted to catch the Datic, it was an electric type and would make for a very good addition to his budding team.

The Datic now understood the opponent as hostile, and, as the attack came, it charged forward, firing a multibolt towards the forward attack, two powerful electric shocks striking at the oncoming leaves, the outward explosion of the attack causing the other leaves to fall out of place. From this position, the Datic would continue to run forward unless interrupted, preparing for a powerful electric attack to use in close range.

The Swalest had continued looking for food and ignored the trainers, being relatively unaware of what was going on. It had completely ignored the trainers and the natrelmon it had seen before, rather foolishly, and only realized that the Aqua Jet was coming as soon as it was knocked squarely onto the ground.

The Swalest, quite literally, did not know what had hit it.

Without interruption, Hydrus continued directly on its path, pouncing into the air in an attempt to land directly on the Swalest. If this succeeded, it would use its weight to heavily weaken and push the smaller Swalest out of consciousness, which would make it relatively easy to catch. If it managed to avoid the actual pounce, Hydrus would fire, at practically point-blank range, more aqua shots at the direct direction of the Swalest in whatever direction it chose to dodge.

Subject to change as usual, of course.

As the Datic fired the multibolt, Sakura-Re quickly used a Photodisruptor and fired 10 more of its leaves, all keeping in pace with the Photodisruptor - if the Datic used an electric move the Photodisruptor would prevent it from stopping the leaves, and due to its forwards slash the leaves would most likely hit it squarely in the chest, causing a good deal of damage which should have weakened it enough to capture comfortably.

These commands were only partially given by Itsuki - Sakura-Re herself was quite aware of what she could do and Itsuki had learnt from the first mistake, now protecting his Sakura-Re's razor leaves.

The Swalest wriggled around, still wondering just what had hit it before it managed to right itself and 'stand up', per se, only to see a large cat inches away from its face. It tried to flap its wings to create a Vortex but it was far too late for the Swalest to hope of defending itself and it was, as aforementioned, crushed and knocked unconscious.
