They had been at their newly discovered peaceful habitat, watching the stars and spending some quality time with each other. Turtatresta simply snorted, meaning whatever Sven wanted to interpret it as. Sven took it as a no, his decision partially influenced by the fact that they had laid in wait for quite some time, and yet they had seen nothing.
"Even if we have been unsuccessful," said Sven, dipping his hand into the cool water as he did so, "it's still a beautiful night. The stars are shining, the atmosphere is thin and cool, and I have all night to spend with you." He rubbed her behind the ears, after which Turtatresta let out a sigh of relief; that specific part of her ear had been itching for quite some time. "Heck, I would walk away happy if we were completely unsuccessful."
The Kaigara had little time to agree; a snort from the forest's edge reverberated through the trees.
