PostSubject: The Fireproof Lance   Sun Apr 25, 2010 8:23 pm

After travelling from Lifan and a fair bit of rest, Luke found himself outside the doors of the first gym he intended to challenge. He had done no research past the fact that this was a fire gym; rather, he had been preparing a strategy the Toran leader would probably be unfamiliar with, Nakidow's relic held tightly in his gloved hand.

He pushed the door open with his right side, hearing it close, click, and lock behind him, Luke not looking back, but rather straight-forward at the gym leader...

Ready for battle, no words would need to be said until addressed.

Eclipse was once again at his usual spot, 60 feet away, sleeping, with a black t-shirt that did little to cover his large muscles and a pair of cargo pants. He also appeared to be wearing a small knife with a sheathe at his waist. A Necklace also was on his rising chest, the decoration at the end was small silver Volcannon. In truth, this man looked exactly like Night, just with fifty times more muscle and with more age lines on his face.

As the door clicked behind look, Eclipse's ears seemed to twitch. Slowly opening one eye, even with blurry vision, he saw a man at the other end of the Gym. " Wow... " He said silently to himself. " I never realized how small people look from far away.... " Propping himself up after thinking this well.... Strange and idiotic thought, he called over to the other trainer. " Hey! Newbie! You're here to challenge me right? Well, go easy on me, I'm getting old ya know. Anyway, would you like to know the rules of engagement? Im the first Gym, so it's my job to ease all of you into the process. So beating an old man like me shouldn't be too hard. Hehe! "

Eclipses voice projected over to Luke, even though it sounded as if he wasn't really yelling. Mearly raising his voice.

"I know the rules," Luke said in reply, already getting into his battle focus, clenching Nakidow's relic in his hand; in the next instant, Nakidow appeared before Luke, taking a few steps forward into the circle, getting within an appropriate battle range of about ten feet from the center of the circle. From there, it waited for the Arena master to call forth its soon-to-be opponent.

Using a steel type as the first choice... even evolved, there had to be some level of doubt in the old man about this kid...

" Well! Even so! I'm an old man and we all like to talk, so I'll go over it anyway in case you're just being stubborn and trying to look cool. You're allowed to use any and all spells you have in your posession, likewise, you're allowed to go into the field along wiht your Natrelmon if you want to get a better view or use said spells! The rewards for defeating me, is a free N2,000 giftcard to Pinehearst! Just kidding, but you do get N2,000 " Pausing to take a breath, Eclipse pulled a hunting knife from his belt. And stabbed it into the ground in front of him, immedietly, a line of fire shot foward from the knife across the ground, and rose up about 2 feet out, into the form of an Emleaf. The line of fire then simply disapeared, not even leaving any ash.

Putting the knife back into it's small sheathe on his belt, Eclipse began to speak again. " Anyway, you will also recieve the spell "Torch" which is a simple, but useful spell that can be fired from the hand. It can win you a battle, or save your life if you freezing to death in some cave up in Relin! Anyway, the battle usually commences when the Gym Leader says it does, though be warned, some will be tricky and try to cheat before you even know what's going on! " Eclipse stopped talking once more, and took a deep breath through his nose, before starting, AGAIN. " So keep your wits about you! Now, if you've been able to survive me lecturing you, you may START the BATTLE. "

After saying this, Luke would be allowed to attack, if he had done so before, Eclipse would have mostly recalled his Emleaf, then summon it again once Luke's Natrelmon returned to it's origional position. Emleaf took a few steps foward, and stood on a small rock, crouching, about 30 feet away from the metal spider. As both were about 10 feet from the center of the circle.

~ We'll see how this newbie does! Most beat me, but so few have such a determined, no, confident look, even though he's pulled out a steel type first! I bet he's gonna be one to watch at the championships! Watch out Elite Triumvirate! I'm sending a whole new generation your way! ~

While thinking this, Eclipse kept a close look on the battle, hopping from his tall rock pedestal to a patch of grass below, then another, until he was 15 feet away from Emleaf diagnolly. He was hoping for something spontaneous would happen, as he did with all his matches.

"End this quickly, Nakidow! Metal zone!"

Oblidging rather quickly to the given strategy, Nakidow quickly laid its first steel egg, attached to the body and bringing brought up to the front through a type of metalmorphasis that acted like 'feelers' at Nakidow's base. In addition, without being ordered, Nakidow's body began being covered in a series of 'bumps', almost as if its exoskeleton was being brought to a slow boil.

Nakidow, less subtly, fired a steel net at the Emleaf about six feet in diameter so that the 'top' of the net, about a foot into the net, was aimed directly at the Emleaf. This net was still attached to the Nakidow via a single metal cord attaching it to the mouth.

(( Oh wow, read your post wrong earlier ))

" Dodge and burn it! " Eclipse ordered swiftly, it was said as if his voice was being projected by a hidden mic somewhere, his voice betrayed not even a hint of actually yelling, just as though he talked normally and a speaker just played it loudly into your ear. Emleaf quickly obeyed him, hopping backwards about five steps to get 8 feet farther away from the Spider. The net would also miss him by about 6 or 7 feet. After he did this, before the net had fallen, a circle opened in Emleaf's fiery face, releasing 5 small chunks of flaming coal that sped in a small arc to land right on the face of the evolved metal spider.

"Keep going!"

Not to be taken by such a simple attack, the Nakidow continued with its combo, its egg brought up to the front and launched forward by the steel wire, which would pass under the singe bullets and explode forward, having the added velocity of both actions, a rather large net now aimed directly at the Emleaf, dead-center.

Simultaneously, the Nakidow stepped back and to the right, firing its normal steel net at the collection of singe bullets that was arcing toward it, which caused the momentum of all five to be killed by the heavy net, falling several feet short of hitting Nakidow.

All the steel net hit was a wisp of smoke, as Eclipse called Emleaf back to his knife relic before the attack landed. He smiled brodly at the challenger before him, " You're an incredible trainer! Using a steel type you really almost took down Emleaf without doing much! And you already evolved your Nakumow to a Nakidow! Impressive! Well, I'm sending out my next Natrelmon, I hope you'll continue to surprise me! I didn't expect a Steel type to be so dominating in my own gym! " Taking out the sheathe for his knife relic, Eclipse prepared to summon his Ocalia.

Luke kept a level, quiet composure with his Nakidow, too focused for any mundane dialogue. He awaited the battle's continuation.

Eclipse wondered why the trainer was focusing so intently on the air, ~ Must be a fly or something.... Oh well, maybe if I continue the battle he'll forget al about that pesky fly. Here we go! ~ Holding out the sheathe once more, in a flashof light, Ocalia was in front of him, crouched low like she was about to pounce on a Feshru or other prey that was near. Eclipse kept a close watch on the battle, he didn't want Nakidow to get the drop on his Ocalia, and possibly injure it permanantly.

"Battle end! Nightmare spikes!"

Luke had been intently focused on the floor, and acted instantly when Ocalia was summonned directly on the center of the steel net from the last battle, still attached to Nakidow by a rather slacked steel wire: in an instant, due to metalmortphasis, the edges of the net kicked up around Ocalia in such a manner that it would quickly surround the feline. In addition, the below part of the net had simultaneously spiked up, assumedly spiking paifully directly in all four of Ocalia's feet and unconsciously causing all of Ocalia's muscles to lose their tensing...

The severe bleeding alone would make Eclipse's relic glow brightly.

When Luke looked at the floor and started to yell, Eclipse thought he was an idiot, until he looked at the floor as well. ~ Crap... ~ He thought, recalling Ocalia quickly as the spikes closed in on it. ~ I got too cocky there... Should've checked the net, ah, I wanted something spectacular and certainly I got it.... ~ " Well! I'm sorry I doubted you for a moment there! I certainly didn't think I'd lose because of an attack that had already been fired sometime ago! I would just give you the reward and badge right now, as it's clear you're gonna beat me, but what kind of man would I be then? Haha! I gotta atleast give you a run for your money! "

Putting the knife that held his Emleaf into the sheathe that was now holding his Ocalia, Eclipse grabbed his necklace, and raised it up. Though the emblem at the end of it seemed to be that of a Volcan, a red mist began to slowly form and rise from the actual chain towards the air. It seemed the next thing to come was a flying type....

"Nakidow! Keep your eyes skyward and don't lose track of it once it starts flying!" Luke ordered, thinking it rather prudent to stick with this Natrelmon for the third battle. He kept his gaze carefully at the mist, knowing the net trick was something that would only work once...

Atrix rose higher, currently above Eclipse, keeping a close eye on the Nakidow. Eclipse smiled, and talked a bit louder so his Atrix could hear. " Keep away Atrix, if you get close, it's all over, I'm not sure if Nakidow is his only Natrelmon, it probably isn't but I need you to atleast take it down a bit. If you get close, you won't be able to do that and it's all over. " Atrix continued to beat her wings at a steady pace, and rose a bit higher, heeding her trainer's words. This spider thing looked intimidating, like it was about to eat her or something....

~As it flies upward...~

"Nakidow! Steel darts! Fire five of them!"

Taking the order in stride, the sound of clicking made as Nakidow prepared the steel darts, Nakidow fired five darts skyward towards the Atrix as it was ascending, so that, without dodging, the attacks would hit either wing, either foot, or the middle of the torso, one dart trained at each location.

Meanwhile, Nakidow kept himself braced, ready to move or use a net at the instant it was needed...

There being about 20 feet between Nakidow when you take the height into account, and Atrix already being, pretty much very scared of Nakidow, Atrix sped up her flying before Eclipse could even talk, and soared upward 6 feet in 2 seconds, avoiding the darts, with the one that would hit her chest flying between he legs, and the ones that would've hit her wings flying beside them on the outside. Meanwhile, she still kept a close watch on Nakidow and the webs. She being scared as she was.

Eclipse made his voice a little softer in tone, but nonetheless loud as he ordered Atrix. " It's okay girl, you don't have to be so scared, about ten Singe Bullets should be able to take this thing down unless it has any other surprises under it's sleeve we don't know about.

Luke gave a smirk, simply looking up at the Atrix's direction as the bird was looking down at the spider. The darts had carried past, and stuck into the ceiling... the heaters of the ceiling, specifically.

More specifically, Luke had struck the transformer of the heater directly above Atrix with one of his darts, causing a short circuit, an overheat, and a small explosion, causing the heater to dislodge from place, the center of the machine directly above the Atrix: the fact that heat was forcing the bird upward and the bird was only less than a foot from the said heater anyway pretty much spelled out its demise.

Pretty much, before Eclipse or the bird would realise it, the bird would be struck by the heater, which would carry down and, if Eclipse didn't recall it, force the bird against the ground, killing it instantly. Of course, with the ceiling height and Eclipse's reactions, it would be little trouble to recall it, though the initial first hit from the heater would make the relic glow quite a bit.

Recalling Atrix as soon as he saw the darts puncture his heaters, Eclipse raised an eyebrow and pointed towards the cieling. " You're going to pay for that. And I'm not trying to be intimidating and stuff, I mean literally you're going to pay for that, my budget is small enough already! Hahahaha! Anyway, since you only took out one heater, I'll let it slide and won't have you pay for it. I'll even give you that as a victory! However, let it be known that, even though that's not one of my rules, it's still illegal to shoot my heaters and cave the roof in, not my decision, but I just don't want to see every trainer who comes in with a clever idea to have to suffer from poverty because they blew up my roof.

" Anyway.... Good job! You've gotten to my last Natrelmon, not only with just using a single Natrelmon, but a metal type as well! "

"Noted," Luke said, giving a snap, Nakidow retreating to his side, whom he recalled to potentially use later in the battle, stowing the relic away, drawing a yellow marble a moment later, giving a mutter...

A yellow flash sparked and flashed brightly in front of Luke, a powerful and lean Dotix appearing from the light, actually considerably more powerful than the Nakidow he had used to take down the first three; a very potent electric type.

"Let's see what your last Natrelmon is capable of," Luke said, with a grin, rather enjoying the pace he had.

" Haha! I like your style newbie! Make me proud when you're in the big leagues aye? I don't usually get front row tickets to Elite Triumvirate matches but I sure as hell watch it on the T.V. set, now get ready to face my ace in the hole! " Holding up the necklace that he had summoned Atrix with, this time, Eclipse focused on the emblem. A smile, which seemed to be spreading across his face alot during this battle, was once again present. Smoke began to rise from the emblem, away from the nets, but still in range to hit the Dotic with some Lava rain....

The Dotix simply responded with some spare static to deflect the rain rather naturally, not going to be hurt by a flare of summonning, Dotix tensing and focusing on the origin of the spot of summonning.

Standing some thirty feet away from Dotic, was Volcanon, who seemed to be pretty mad about something. Probably that it had taken so long to get into battle, or maybe, the opposite. The four legged creature had its volcano cannon tilted and pointed foward so that at any moment, Dotic would be showered in lava. Eclipse smiled, and moved closer to his Volcanon while keeping an eye on the Dotic. He was ready for ALMOST anything.

Taking the obviously announced move, the fox bounded forward in an attempt to quickly close the distance, its fur brimming with electricity.

As soon as Luke finished speaking, Eclipse raised a finger at the Dotix. " Volcanon, stab it! " The creature that sort-of-kind-of-resembled-a-turtle did something that looked like a nod, and concentrated hard on teh Dotix. As the electric dog began its run, a large stone blade, a foot wide, shot out in front of the dog, not leaving the ground but aiming to stab it in the space between it's neck and front legs to try and take it out of the battle. Eclipse knew he probably woudln't win this battle, the Dotix in power level, skill, and growth outclassed his own strongest Natrelmon more than the metal spider had with the others.
