Eien tries for a Natrelmon [Forest] Empty
PostSubject: Eien tries for a Natrelmon [Forest]   Eien tries for a Natrelmon [Forest] I_icon_minitimeThu Apr 22, 2010 10:25 pm

Eien having some down time after his first tournament match had decided to purchase an extra relic and wander the forests of Lifan.

He had left his match with a sense of pride, allowing him to be confident in his abilities. The shop owner, used to many trainers purchasing lots of relics at once, was quite surprised when Eien told him he only wanted one. Assuming it was the highest rank one that he wanted, he was even further shocked when Eien said he wanted the most basic relic. He knew his Kohitsuji was more than capable of handling creatures much higher in level than itself. Even though it had gained experience in its Arena fight, he kept his inhibitor active, wanting to give his psychic lamb Natrelmon a true test. If they were able to beat a wild Natrelmon, capture, and do it with the inhibitor on, they would be even more confident as they progressed on their journey as a team.

As Eien left a very confused shop owner, he smiled a bit, clutching the relic tightly once before tucking it away. He began walking to the outskirts of town, avoiding as many people as possible so he could focus. He knew which ones he was after. Breeding wise, he wanted a Swalest, partially as a gift to his sister. Of course, there were a couple of others he wouldn't object too. While battle wise he was all about Psychics, there were a number of decently attractive Natrelmon that would make good companions or gifts to those close to him. He wanted to make the best use of his relic as possible.

Once in the forest, Eien did his best to avoid startling any of the Natrelmon, but it probably wasn't going the best. He wasn't a stealthy person at all. Smart, but not stealthy. There were just some areas in the forest that required him to push back some foliage or step on a twig. He did his best to avoid those spots, trying to find an area that had a clear indication of Natrelmon. He was confident, given the type of area it was, that he would find a Natrelmon.

Eien tries for a Natrelmon [Forest] Empty
PostSubject: Re: Eien tries for a Natrelmon [Forest]   Eien tries for a Natrelmon [Forest] I_icon_minitimeThu Apr 22, 2010 10:53 pm

The forest was empty, causing Eien to grumble a bit. The first 10 minutes or so of his search had yielded him nothing, not even a trace of a Natrelmon. He figured that he was being too noisy and that they were avoiding him. He knew, however, that any anger was not going to get him anywhere. With a few breathes, he got back into a searching mode, walking slowly through the area. He figured if he went deeper, he might have some better luck, even though it was a bit more dangerous.

Luckily, in the modern days, it was pretty hard for anyone to get lost in Nerta. The Pinehearst Satellite Network and the GPS devices that came attached with most basic communications devices allowed people to quickly pinpoint where to go and where they were. No one really complained that Pinehearst had a monopoly on the tech market, mostly because the prices remained fairly fair. They knew if they tried to start at outrageous prices they would quickly get knocked down as they would be quickly replaced by some other up and coming company for a reasonable price. Most people around Nerta were pretty thrifty, save for the few noble families that had survived into the modern age. The Song Family, which hosted the Suzaku Tournament was one of them.

One of his thoughts was to capture a Natrelmon for their daughter, whom he had met a few years ago. He knew she was blind and had always wanted to be a Natrelmon trainer. However, since she was blind, it made it hard for her to give orders of any kind, since she tended to be unaware of what was going on around her. If there was any person that hated ghost types more than Eien, it was Lin Tiao. They were nearly impossible for her to pick up. In some ways, she was smarter than Eien, which almost made him want to turn around and go get her. She knew the area well and since the forest doesn't change, she'd actually know where she was going without a GPS. She had a photographic memory and was basically a genius all around. If she could see, he expect her to be one of the all time best trainers.

But, at the very least, he could get her a pet to have. Many of the basic Natrelmon made great pets. Of course, her father and mother would have to approve of the creature. If it was too dangerous or powerful, they might not let her have it since it might tempt her into battle. They were quite overprotective and Eien had always thought a Natrelmon would make a good protector for her, but from what Lin Tiao told him, that wasn't something they'd agree on.

He sighed slightly, another 10 minutes having elapsed with no luck. He wasn't the most patient of people, since he wasnt' using his time efficiently. If he could have already gotten a Natrelmon, he could get back to the fray of the tournament, or at least go do something that might be marginally more productive than wandering around a forest for an hour and coming back empty handed. Part of him thought he might be on a bad luck streak, since he had been so confident in his ability to get a Natrelmon already. Maybe the fates were trying to get back at him for being too confident?

Shrugging the bad feelings aside, Eien pursued his goal of finding a Natrelmon. He had a lot to think about, his mind spinning thoughts around as rapidly as ever. At least, Eien thought with a sigh, that the scenery was at least nice to look at. It was definitely different from the more hardy forests around Relin, which consisted mostly of evergreens. Here, a lot of the trees actually weren't green year around. It was, at least, something different than what he usually got to see.

Eien tries for a Natrelmon [Forest] Empty
PostSubject: Re: Eien tries for a Natrelmon [Forest]   Eien tries for a Natrelmon [Forest] I_icon_minitimeFri Apr 23, 2010 12:00 am

After 30 minutes of searching, Eien finally heard a Natrelmon rustling. Excited, he called out his Kohitsuji, the ghost/psychic lamb bursting forth with a flash of light and a small bleat. A tense second as Eien and Kohitsuji prepared to battle the creature, only to find it was a Lapher. Sighing, Eien recalled his Kohitsuji, knowing he could do better than a Lapher. There was nothing wrong with a Lapher, it was just not suited to Eien's taste. It wasn't a psychic or something he felt a friend would really appreciate.

With that, he pushed on further, trying to find a Natrelmon worth his attention. What was with all of his bad luck today finding a Natrelmon? First he hadn't even found one, then after a half hour he had found a Lapher? He knew that if he was going to progress as a Natrelmon trainer, he would have to find good creatures. Even if they weren't the most powerful, they should at least have some potential in the short term.

He thought about the Natrelmon he did want. Albion and Meu were definitely on his list, Albion more for a breeding purpose than actual combat, even though the strange dragon had a lot of potential. He knew the more advanced forms of his Kohitsuji were something he wanted. And lastly, he knew a Bladefree would be a part of his team. Bladefrees were incredibly powerful for a psychic type and suited Eien's style perfectly. They required preparation and timing, something a few Natrelmon trainers lacked. It took a person with skill to use a psychic type properly and Eien felt he was one of those few.

Psychics, regrettably, tended to be rarer than most Natrelmon. That would make it hard for Eien to assemble a good team for Natrelmon. He would probably have to spend hours more than most people to even have a chance of finding his second Natrelmon. And, despite how impatient he was, he was fine with that. He wanted to have the best he could and if he wanted to stay true to his goals, he would have to do it. Being a dedicated person, any thoughts on changing his strategy never crossed his mind. He wanted psychics and that is what he would get.

This made him think a bit about how Kimlee and him differed in style. Kimlee liked to diversify and go with Sparwire and other various Natrelmon, compared to his dedicated focus with Psychic type Natrelmon. However, the two of them made an amazing team when it came to battle, and when it came to diversifying the Natrelmon world. He hadn't shared many of his plans with Kimlee, but he had a general idea of a creature he wanted to create.... it would be powerful, very powerful. In fact, he was so sure it would be one of the most powerful Natrelmon ever, he kept the idea as secret as possible, which might have been why he subconsciously kept it secret from even Kimlee.

The trek through the forest was beginning to be more and more of a drain on Eien. Since he wasn't the most physically active and fit person in the world, he didn't have the largest amount of physical stamina. That would probably be something he'd have to work on and gain in his Natrelmon journey. For now, it was a small detail that his cleverness, for the most part, could circumvent. He still wanted to find a decent Natrelmon as soon as possible. He knew Albions could appear in the area at his level, but they were rare.... so rare. Still, he wished that he could find one.

So far, he hadn't run into any trainers either. He knew that many would be searching around the forest as well. They were a prime area for Natrelmon and with all of the low level trainers wandering around, it would probably soon get filled with people. Ironically, however, that would reduce any chances of finding a Natrelmon for them all. The creatures would move deeper and deeper into the woods and further and further away from Lifan. However, he knew most of them currently were occupied with the tournament, giving him a good first chance opportunity at a decent wild Natrelmon.

Eien thought a bit about his twin. Kimlee would be arriving in Lifan any moment now and part of him wondered if he should abandon his search and go meet up with her. He wanted to see how she and her Sparwire were doing. While he would never pick a Sparwire, he did approve of the creature. It was also a very fitting creature for her, since the bird type was far less reserved than his psychic type. They tended to be more abundant with energy, Sparwire in a more literal case than most. This made him smile a bit, considering how well matched up their personality traits were with their Natrelmon. I suppose that is how a lot of people were, even if it was just something subconscious.

Normally, for a search like this, Eien would have a creature out to help find a Natrelmon. But like he did on his journey, he kept his Kohitsuji in its relic. It was best that he stay fresh, so when it came down to battle, he wouldn't be too drained to do anything less than his best. It was something Eien like to be able to do each challenge. There was going to be no lack of skill in his performance against any opponent. By letting Kohitsuji stay fresh, he would be able to face those challenges far better.

Eien's time, although mostly filled with thought, garnered him a significant amount of dust and dirt on his clothing. It was unavoidable, but he had thankfully not gotten any cuts or tears in his garb. That was a lot harder to fix and Eien rather liked his clothing. It was practical enough that it suited what he was doing, but still didn't look too grimy when he wandered around. Eien, while he usually had unkempt hair, like to at least look fairly presentable, like one of those slightly disheveled college students that looks insanely intelligent. That is what he aimed for and thought he fit the bill perfectly.

Pushing back a branch as he stepped further into the forest, he avoided some razor sharp thorns as he looked for a wild Natrelmon to capture. He hoped his dedication to his goal would get him some help from the fates, but he wasn't going to hold his breath. He truly did regret getting too confident to start with. It felt to Eien that was why he had not had any luck with finding any Natrelmon that was truly useful to him, Kimlee, or anyone he knew as a friend. Just like fighting, Eien didn't want subpar Natrelmon.

After about 45 minutes, Eien was getting more and more frustrated with his search. He hoped he would soon catch a break because walking around a forest wasn't his favorite task. He would prefer to be on his computer, back at the hotel, with a new Natrelmon on his team. One that fit in well. His interest in the forest had long since passed and he wasn't too fond of getting too dirty, which is the only thing he seemed to be able to find. A shower and some relaxation would be in order soon....

Eien tries for a Natrelmon [Forest] Empty
PostSubject: Re: Eien tries for a Natrelmon [Forest]   Eien tries for a Natrelmon [Forest] I_icon_minitimeFri Apr 23, 2010 3:38 pm

A rustling in the undergrowth caught Eien's attention immediately. Being much deeper in the forest than he was before he expected something far more impressive than a Lapher. Calling out his Kohitsuji in preparation, he prepared himself in case it was one of the Natrelmon he was desperately after. Just like the Lapher, there was an intense moment of silence, Kohitsuji preparing as best it could for the situation. Finally, the cause of the rustling appeared. A Livine! Eien groaned a bit, frustrated once again that he hadn't even gotten close to even seeing a Natrelmon he was after!

Slowly, he backed away from the creature, not wanting to upset it. For the most part, the Livine ignored Eien's presence, Kohitsuji having been put back in its relic. Eien just didn't want a creature like a Livine and didn't feel it was something that could be easily sold to someone. They weren't bad creatures, but just like the Lapher, they were not suited to his style at all. It was incredibly frustrating and part of him wondered where all of the good Natrelmon were. After getting a decent bit away from the Livine's area, Eien decided to lean up against a tree and rest.

He was seated on the ground, back up against the tree staring at the brook and thinking about his search for a Natrelmon. So far, they were not going well at all. In absentminded frustration, he pulled at the grass around him, then tossed it off into the brook. He watched the water carry it away. In a small way, it helped him relax a bit. He was completely exhausted by this search but he had to try at least one more time. Pulling out a small bar from his pack, he decided to replenish his energy with the snack before continuing on. It was some practical bar that tasted slightly better than peanut butter and cardboard. He was sure it was supposed to be some chocolate or something, but it wasn't a very exciting snack. In the future, he'd bring something a bit more interesting to snack on, since Lifan did have some of the nicer restaurants that did prepare snack things for trainers that were about to go into the wild.

After eating the bar as slowly as he possibly could, Eien rose from the tree and dusted off the remnants of the grass he had plucked up, a few requiring a bit of extra attention to be removed. Once he was presentable enough to the wild, he strode over the small brook and even deeper into the woods. Unlike last time, he wasn't even the remotest bit confident he would find anything. Deciding to be even more focused than before, he tried to be as quiet as possible. He had to do everything he could to improve his chances of finding a Natrelmon. He *HAD* to find something.

Eien's mind was beginning to fill a bit with doubt about finding a Natrelmon he liked. Finding Natrelmon, he had found, wasn't the hardest thing to do. He had already found two, but neither were really suited to his tastes. Where were the creatures like Albion, which were both powerful and useful for breeding? Where were the Meus, frequently talked about in lore? They were clearly not anywhere around Eien, as he had quickly discovered. So far, he had found nothing, absolutely nothing worthwhile.

Deciding to be a bit cyclic, he began walking back towards Lifan, thinking it might be a good idea to go purchase another Relic. On his walk back, he found nothing and only wasted another hour of his time. His GPS kept cutting in and out as he walked through some areas and he did get lost on more than one occasion. Once he got to Lifan, he basically reversed his journey. Being slightly more familiar with the journey this time, he found the shop quickly. The shop owner didn't say anything to him, since it was clear Eien wasn't having much luck. He bought a D rank relic this time, stepping up from the F ranked relic he had bought before. This was more in case he did find a rare Natrelmon - he would be better prepared to catch it. He would be extremely upset he if ran into a rare Natrelmon like an Albion and wasn't able to catch it!

After exiting the shop with the customary bell ding, he began walking back towards the forest. He tucked the D rank relic into his jacket pocket before resuming complete attention on where he was going. Once again, he thought about going to grab Song Lin Tiao or find Kimlee, who he expected to be around here by now. If they teamed up, maybe they would have better luck finding a Natrelmon as a team. He pushed the thoughts aside since he decided he needed to try to get his first Natrelmon on his own. It would make him feel better about himself if he got a really rare Natrelmon on his first try with no help other than his Kohitsuji. It was their battle to win and their hurdle to cross.

The street was a bit emptier now, since the sun was getting close to setting. There were a lot fewer people between him and the forest, allowing him to remain somewhat at peace. He couldn't help but get a little bit more excited since there was a chance there would be a lot less people in the woods looking for Natrlemon, increasing his chances, he hoped, ever so slightly.

The forest was even more quiet than before, making all of Eien's movements sound much louder. Many of the animals have begun to go to sleep. While peaceful, it was also a bit eerie. The silence was almost always filled for Eien with clicks on his keyboard. This was just pure silence, a few of the more nocturnal creatures making noises off in the distance. Eien didn't have the same kind of hearing that Song Lin Tiao did, who could tell what each sound was and where it was coming from, so he couldn't make any use of that information. He would have to ask Song Lin Tiao sometime if there was a way to train his ear like that...

The journey back into Eien's part of the woods was shaved off by about 10 minutes, since he had a general idea of where he was going now. It was a quiet journey. There was nothing too eventful about it and most of the thoughts Eien had were about the same things. More and more it was about how he was not having any luck finding a Natrelmon! Time flew by though and the forest got darker. Luckily for Eien, he loved the night time when he was outdoors. It was peaceful and still. It also had that smell that could only happen at night, for some reason. It reminded him of the smell of rain... Relin's forests always had a pine smell that got really old if you spent too much time in it. He expected some people might feel the same about his views on the night time smell of the outdoors, but it was something he usually didn't experience.

This helped Eien overall, since it was a calm and soothing experience for him. He was able to focus more and more on his mission as a Natrelmon trainer. While not getting too confident, his confidence was building. He knew he would be able to find one of the Natrelmon he was after eventually. There was no doubt about that. Then he could begin working with Kimlee or any other trainers he connected with in creating some of the best Natrelmon in the world. Breeders often made really good money, since they had access to some very unusual creatures and abilities.

It brought back one of Eien's memories from school, when they toured a Natrelmon Breeder's place near Relin. While the person there didn't have any truly amazingly rare Natrelmon naturally, some of his creations were pretty impressive. He explained the process to him and the necessary devices for creating good crossbreeds. The operations were extremely expensive, but often considered worthwhile. People made more than decent money breeding high end Natrelmon. The rich people who didn't want to go through the trials and tribulations of being a trainer often bought the best they could as guards and hired some trainers to get them up to a good level. It was a thriving business that could always support more people on the market. The thing was about Natrelmon - it was always changing. There was always something new or something different. You could never truly 'catch them all'. People created new Natrelmon and there were even more being discovered! Pinhearst had even developed a synthetic Natrelmon, making the potential for new Natrelmon even greater than before. It was just beyond amazing.

He had, as well, gotten to see one of the prototypes for the Pinehearst Models, the Guren, also on a class trip. Unlike a couple of the other kids, who had the money to buy the Guren Natrelmon, he had to pass it up, even though the Guren was incredibly powerful. Once it was merged onto another Natrelmon.... it was just absolutely impressive.... Eien secretly wanted one, even though it wasn't psychic. His evolved Kohitsuji with a Radiant Wave Surger would just be a massive destructive force! It would be incredibly, incredibly powerful. Plus, it would allow Kohitsuji's evolution to fly without telekinesis.

He sighed a bit, after having almost walked into a tree with his daydreaming about his ultimate team of Natrelmon... Back on the track of a Natrelmon, Eien realized he was even deeper in the woods than he was before. This, he came to realize, might be helpful to finding those truly special Natrelmon that he was looking for. The further he got from the city, it would seem more sensible it would be slightly easier to see those rare Natrelmon. Most of the trainers didn't go out this far or search this hard for a Natrelmon. He was at 4 hours of searching at this point, which showed his dedication to his mission clearly. He wanted what he wanted and nothing was going to change that.

As preparation, he called out his Kohitsuji. He didn't care if this scared the Natrelmon away. He was going to be ready and prepared for this. Light flared from his relic, creating a blinding, and beautiful, pattern of purple light. The glyphal gyrations of his summon were something to stare at in awe, the form of the psychic/ghost sheep taking form from excess pools of light as it appear above the glyph. A bleat from the small lamb signified that it was ready, the light dying down in reaction. Eien smiled a bit at this, knowing the sheep and him were on the same wavelength. Kohitsuji wanted a challenge and nothing other than one of those Natrelmon Eien was after was going to do. None of them.

The two of them pressed onwards, listening closely to the sounds around him. He knew that at high levels Psychics were useful at detecting others, but his Kohitsuji was still kind of young. It wouldn't even be close to possessing that kind of trait for a long time, if the sheep even ever got that ability. Part of that was just a rumor, but in battle it seemed to prove effective. It was, at least, true within the telekinetic range. He had seen that as part of a key strategy when fighting challenging fights. Psychics, in his opinion, had time and time again proven to be the most powerful type of Natrelmon in existence, their superiority only challenged by creatures like Suzaku and the other legendaries. Eien, of course, like most trainers, did want to encounter a legendary and he definitely would not say no to Suzaku. The creature was powerful and at any rate, he could at least sell the it to someone. Bids, he expected, would get into the millions of Ns...

Once again, he was caught daydreaming by a piece of the forest, a branch this time that he narrowly had to duck. Kohitsuji bleated in kind of a laughing manner. Eien wasn't sure if it was laughing at him or just making noise. He ignored it if it was the first, Eien's ears catching a bit of a rustle again. He moved in on the rustling, hoping to find out what kind of Natrelmon it was, all of his hopes were on this....

Eien may have felt a sense of pity, then, seeing that the source of the rustling was a rather small, lost, and confused Goll, chirping wildly into the air in the sense that it had lost its parents, who had migrated without it. It wasn't even paying attention to Eien: its chirps merely reached to the heavens as it beat its rather small wings, scurrying in the bush that it had fallen into... a rather pathetic-looking thing, actually.

Eien saw the small bird. He quickly analyzed his options, realizing that the bird was quite weak looking. He felt bad for it, knowing that it probably wouldn't survive on its own. That left him with one option. Pulling up his F ranked Relic, he summoned for the power of the relic to send a beam of light out against the small little Goll. It wasn't a creature that was suited for his style, but he thought Kimlee might like it. It would make an interesting breeding combination with her Sparwire.

He hoped, at least, that he would get a Natrelmon from this. Of course, with his luck.... The feeble Goll would probably escape his relic and he'd be forced to use his higher ranked relic. He wouldn't doubt that at all. Hopefully though, the fates would be kind to him for a change of pace...

Eien glared at the relic as it shattered from this feeble, pathetic Goll.... He sighed and pulled out his D ranked relic. Using the same process, he shot a beam of light out at the Natrelmon, hoping to capture it with the power of the Relic. He didn't even bother weakening it with Kohitsuji, as it probably would kill it if it even looked at it strangely. Yet, somehow, this peculiar Goll had managed to escape his first relic.

This time though, he felt more confident that the creature would be his. It couldn't really escape a D ranked relic, could it? Eien would soon find out.
